A fresh Idea that enjoys the ROT
heshert2 March 2024
Apparently Vampires "like the Rot" for taste. "Know your audience, Chef" the limey says to his chef to the vamps. This movie seems to know its audience and plays up the vampire lore with a new twist - a chef makes raw meat dishes for vampires. The movie works as a thriller about a trapped person with no options using her wits and blood and gore to escape an unthinkable situation. All things considered. The lead actresss makes the movie work she is engaging and have amazing eyes. A real broken person taking charge of her life situation in the horror genre. Worth a late night watch - just leave a light on.

An incredibly effective indie vampire effort
kannibalcorpsegrinder23 February 2024
After being forced out of her job, a woman is tasked with preparing a special tryout meal for a mysterious boss that soon turns out to be a vampire coven that requires her to be the chef for the leader and her clientele, and while trying to wrestle with working for vampires must try to keep herself safe.

This one has quite a lot to like about it. One of the finer aspects on display is the highly intriguing setup at the core of this one that provides a great insight into the coven over time. Getting a chance to see the life she has at the very start, scarred and working in a low-paying, abusive restaurant with a boss that mistreats her, and to compare that with the induction into the secret lifestyle of the vampire and the different lifestyle she leads following that makes for a great start to this one. The means through which she gets involved, where it initially appears to be a form of monetary payment only to find the company and attention enough to compensate for the fact that she's working for vampires able to kill her in a momentary glance. The parallels to a crime family are well-told here where the longer she stays invested and under their control, it takes a toll on her to the point of questioning how far she'll go to accept the situation and cope with everything going on around her in a world filled with this much chaos and bloodshed. As this goes on and she gets more of a chance to get to know everyone in the coven, there's a solid bit to enjoy here with the experience showing her how to be more confident and capable at what she does. With the first half continually showing how she comes to grow more accepted in the community the longer she works for them and eventually grows to that much more comfortable that she's able to take the kind of action she does towards the end that causes everything to take place at the rate it does. Some of this does come off with the kind of whiplash effect involving her motivations as some of it comes off with her intentions to remain involved in the society structure as is while other times seeming like she's intent on ending everything so it can feel a bit scattershot at points. As well, the focus on keeping the girl alive while introducing her to the coven means that there's not much in the way of action that takes place so it can be a bit of a struggle to get going, but beyond that, there's not much holding this one back.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

Wonderful modern day vampire film with a few subtle twists !!
slfeldman-374472 March 2024
Creative modern day vampire film with an NCIS type of back story intertwined as the viewer perceives what is good and evil throughout the entire film. The women are attractive, seductive, and engaging characters that have their unique privileged and private vampire world with all of their endearing love for each other, and lust for blood and power too. Alice's character is relatable, creative, inspiring, and her culinary skills are put to the test, as her questionable evil past is revealed, and incorporated into her current state, serving the Vampire Queen. You can feel her emotions throughout her journey in this film in her efforts to do what she believes is right for herself. The strategic placement of the music emphasizes the passion of the characters in this delightful film. .

GREAT VAMPIRE FILM!
aarondallavilla3 March 2024
Okay, so I'm a big fan of anything that deal with vampires, first off. This is a great vampire film made for a modest budget. I never thought a film that has a main character being a chef for a vampire queen would be interesting but I was surprised. Indie filmmaking at its best. The vampires were perfectly cast too. That one vampire gave me the creeps! Ugh! The vampire queen was great. Loved her accent too. The only thing I wish they had was a larger budget to make some of the effects realer as some of them did look low budget/little cheesy. I'm excited to see if there will be a sequel for this.

Bloodsuckers Unite
dkennedy-684367 March 2024
I saw this movie at the premier when my band, The Real Fugitives, was invited because of two songs that we have placed in the movie. I was pleasantly surprised. I expected a good movie, but what I got instead was a GREAT movie! The plot diverts from the usual blood and gore vampire movie and offers the audience a unique take on vampire "life." There are even a good number of chuckles sprinkled in to make it even more entertaining. The acting is top notch! The actors are believable in their roles and the performances are delivered with great expertise and a very real feel. This movie is well worth seeing, and it's memorable. It occurred to me later that night that all me and my date talked about on the way home was the movie. Check it out. You' won't be disappointed.

Alice survives again
gaylenewalsh-450082 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Dan Lantz & co have hit the jackpot once again. Each member of the cast portrays their character to perfect. There are a few questions left unanswered which leads me to the conclusion that there will be a sequel sometime in the the future, but I could be wrong.

What was the reason behind Kieran consuming the strand of Alice's hair? Does it enable him to easily track her? And if so, then what!

Does Kieran get outcast & lose his fangs once again for his betrayal?

Does Queen Isabella change her mind about Alice & her freedom?

And just how many vampires survive the final dinner?

I highly recommend Alice & The Vampire Queen, can't wait for the DVD 📀 to be released.
