Surprisingly good movie
lawanda-6063022 December 2023
I decided to give this a watch because I love all the ladies in the main cast. I wanted to see how well they worked together on screen and what this movie was all about. I must say it was a surprisingly good movie. Everyone did an amazing job and I can definitely see that Kandi's acting skills have gotten much better. The storyline was great and it kept you entertained throughout the entire movie. A lot of women can identify with each relationship in this movie. So many times as women we tend to get in our own way and this movie highlights that. I enjoyed it!

I definitely recommend watching this movie.

Must see
kenya-6362524 December 2023
I loved this movie! I was excited to see some of my fave women as lead and they did an amazing job. I was invested in the lives of all 3 ladies and loved the peace that AJ brought.

Kandi- Brought it! The intensity that she brought to her character was great. I see the growth in her acting skills. Very natural.

Tami- Speaking of natural, Tami is just meant for tv. She had me coughing historically from laughing in this movie. I went from being mad at her to rooting for her.

Brely- I always love her! I felt for her character and related to her the most. And I completely understand why she fell for that grown ach man. He was sexy and put everyone in their place.

The mother- had my side hurting from laughter.

A must see ladies!💜

It's GOOD! Funny, dramatic, & romantic
nicoleallenre28 December 2023
This movie offers endless comedy, all while having dramatic storylines. Everyone had something that needed to be dealt with. Yet, the movie managed to not be all over the place and allowed all the circumstances to come around full circle to be resolved in someway. This movie gracefully tackled the attachment of mother-son relationships, double-standards, self-righteousness, struggles of embracing "new," and so much more. It is open-minded without being over-bearing. The romance displayed was not too much. It was realistic. Many moments make you smile and you may even shed a tear. This movie is pulling cards, teaching lessons, and giving joy all at once. It was felt on every level. Loved it!

The Perfect Christmas Movie
cwkscsp23 December 2023
Christmas movies are feel good movies and that's what "Whatever it Takes" did. Come and take this ride with four friends with different concerns but the same challenge of matters of the heart. Watch how each one of them have to figure out the challenges that surrounds and occupies their space. Many lessons are learned and some truths are realized. The scenery, the acting, the Kwanzaa scene were fabulous. The movie is based on the novella, "Whatever it Takes", written by Tu-Shonda L. Whitaker. I loved this movie! Kudos to the actors, producers, directors, writers and all support staff. Happy Holidays.

I loved this, stroke a chord of realism

I enjoyed this movie and even my no-loving hub thinking this was going to be a hallmark movie was loving it and laughing all the way to the end! The actresses and Kandy just outdid themselves and the guys were so good. I hope it's a part 2 to this one. I can see a sequel! So watch it for yourself I was feeling my emotions with a tear or two. I might mention that whoever casted the actors in this did a superb job. They all played their roles well and were cast perfectly. It's worth a look at love, forgiveness & redemption while keeping a comical and thoughtful theme. I hope we see them again! Give it a shot!

Loved it!

Loved this movie! The cast is phenomenal and the storylines were well-written and relatable. The actors were so believable and make you want to be a part of their sisterhood. The men...oh my goodness! Kendrick Cross, Zuri James (those eyes), and Rayan Lawrence (JuJu), definitely brought it!! I have watched this movie at least 5 times! Kudos to A. J. Johnson. Her character brings the balance, truth, and harmony to the sisterhoods, on and off screen. This is a movie that definitely needs to be added to the Christmas Movies rotation every year. Great job to Brely, Kandi, and Tami. Oh! And loved Mama...she is hilarious, and little Jasmine is such a sweetheart. Wonderful movie.

Great Christmas Movie
onejaz-518947 January 2024
The movie starts out a little dramatic but it made you want to continue following the storyline. A great deal of women may be able to identify with the older women, younger man relationship. I liked how the couple navigated through their interal and external relationships throughout the movie. It was a great holiday movie and hopefully it will return annually. Each actor held their own and delivered. Kandi did a good job but it would have been great to see someone like Sanaa Lathan in that role. I really liked the song with the lyrics 'You can be my life for life". Who sings that song. In fact can you provide a list of songs used or the soundtrack for the movie.
