Cannot resist for more than 10 minutes
paolo-211-83668826 April 2023
Yes, I watched for no more than ten minutes. Then, I gave up and change film. Still wondering how could this movie get such good reviews, reason why I started to watch.

In my opinion, this movie has an amateurish pretending, I don't know in other languages, but in Italian pretending is very poor. They seem to read a book at elementary school... The guy at the bar has only one face, eyes wide open in every situation. Overall a ridiculous plot. Very little to smile at, just normal situations in a country side Italian bar. Very elementary direction, it is clear that it has been realised with a limited budget. I do not suggest to waste time watching it.

An easy comedy for a cosy evening!
luigicioccarelli9 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
On one side funny comedy with an enthusiastic cast.

The director, Marcello Crea, mixed again reality with sarcasm, problems with "take it easy" solutions.

Some scenes are really funny, some are taken seriously, some others with a touch of incredulity, but the whole easy to follow.

The choose of the cast gave a real surrounding of the entire story, the protagonists featured two actual characters you can easily find almost everywhere nowadays and the supporting actors make a real, although sometimes surreal, atmosphere: that gives an emphasising strength to the whole opera.

Last but not least: the location... an everyday place which could easily be our usual place to meet our friends and/or acquaintances.

Without any doubt, an easy comedy for a cosy evening.

A psychological and enjoyable film
valeciok10 March 2023
An italian film that reflects today's society. All the characters, for several reasons, are looking for an accomodation that may be able to improve their living conditions. At the central of the story, we find a strange inheritance leaven by aunt Emily to her hephews Dolly and Max. I really liked the actor Antonio del Prete, who play's the role f Emily's husband: an actual and both comic and verry real character. A wealthy man, who messes with politicians and has an obsessive attention to his physical appearance by practicing gym at home with a ridicolous equipment and by going regulary to a beautician.

Once he said: "to win chess you don't need to know the game, but the face of whoever sits opposite you" and he really amazed me by pronouncing these words.

The actors are good and the story is original.

I saw this director's first film entitled When Everything Is Possible (Todo se puede) and I was fascinated by the naturalness of the dialogues and the spontaneity of the actors. Actors that we largely find in All Broke. I find this second film more entertaining than the first, very accurate, has a good rhythm and leaves you in suspense until the end. In some scenes one can identify with the characters; above all I find uncle Carmelo's maid legendary. The exasperation of appearing on social media is part of many people and the film describes it in an ironic way. Nice the character of Max who wants to be unemployed for life by choice. Adorable (and a little naughty) his sister Dolly.

A beautiful Italian comedy.
silviagaier9 March 2023
A beautiful Italian comedy but with the rhythms of an American sitcom. The main location of the film is a bar where strange characters alternate. In particular I liked The theme of esotericism when one of the protagonists (Rudy) appears the reincarnation of a girl who lived 2000 years ago in ancient Rome. Rudy with the help of a fortune teller will find out who that girl really was. The answer will be shocking but plausible. The following scenes are very funny but also plausible. The title perfectly reflects the situation of the many characters: they are all broke in search of the possibility of life.

Brilliant Italian comedy
queenjulien9 March 2023
The film tells of two penniless brothers who inherited the bar from an uncommon aunt, a bar frequented by really strange and funny customers.

The film is particular, because there is a supernatural element in a comic key, with ghosts and fortune tellers.

The movie is funny and brilliant and the actors are good. The situations are deliberately absurd, so absurd as to make you laugh out loud.

I really liked it, I recommend it.

It's an Italian movie, and Italians are the best in comedy movies. This one is inspired by American works, but the location is an Italian restaurant and the characters lives in North Italy.

Extremely funny, brilliant comedy!
raffaella_scapini16 March 2023
I absolutely loved this comedy. I think Marcello Crea has done once again a wonderful job. In fact "'All Broke" seem to retrace the same successful path as the previous film "When Everything Is Possible".

A funny, entertaining, brilliant comedy which will make you laugh from the beginning till the end. I found the actors extraordinary too.

I particularly loved the personal assistant of Carmelo, played by the talented actress Viviana Scapini.

Subtitled in 6 different languages, the movie depicts a story set in the beautiful province of Trieste. In an ironic key, a cross-section of today's society split in selfies, broken dreams, power games and money (which is lacking).

The characters in the story come from different places and cultures, a faithful mirror of today's Italy.

You must definitely watch it!

A funny but also melancholy film
artisti-0645610 March 2023
I had read in various newspapers, and on the director's social pages, about this new film. I was intrigued both by the plot but also by the fact that they were repeating it a few days after the success achieved during the international preview in Serbia on March 26 at 5pm.

The afternoon schedule, unusual for a premiere, was justified by the fact that the film was also suitable for children. I appreciated that too. I then tuned into Serbia's Orion TV satellite platform and watched the rerun of the film on March 4, this time in the evening. I was not disappointed: the beginning of the film starts quickly with uncle Carmelo informing his unemployed nephews that they will have a bar available to finally start working. A bar bequeathed to the nephews by Aunt Emily: a character who will reveal, throughout the story, full of disturbing secrets. Everything travels on the edge of an intelligent irony. The film is presented as a comedy genre, I don't agree, it's funny, of course, but also very melancholy. Then I found the ending surprising and original and philosophical. Definitely worth seeing.

A particular story
isacrea19 March 2023
The main scenes of the film take place in a bar located in an isolated place in the middle of nature, near Trieste, Italy. The place is frequented by some students and by strange characters including a film producer and a fortune teller. Both use the place as an office receiving their clients. From here come comical and paradoxical situations. The managers of the bar (two unemployed guys) don't know how to get rid of a clientele without money who, in addition to occupying the bar for hours, consume nothing. The presence of a ghost that messes up the life of the producer is disturbing but also very funny. The film has a fast pace, the characters come from different cultures, and the director's choice to leave a very marked dialectal accent in some moments of the film makes the story more grotesque and original.

A good result with a small budget...
savfra11 March 2023
If one thinks of the budget spent to make this good comedy, one can understand how good Marcello Crea has been at creating a plot suspended between the lyrical and the surreal, driving and mixing the multiple voices of the actors in a palpable and smart way. The result is a bittersweet comedy, from which emerges a cross-section of our times, all played out between fiction and reality, aspirations and concreteness. Marcello Crea has the ability to wrap his movie in a romanticism that manages to wring a smile from our lips, on the base of a deep love for cinema and life. A plot to be enjoyed to the full, with the awareness that the distance between reality and dream is less obvious that one might assume.

Eventually the circle closes
ufficiostampa_crea19 February 2024
Seen it yesterday. I liked the idea of a busy bar as if it were an office. This is a bit like what happens in reality. For example, the fortune teller, one of the many extravagant characters in the film, would not have been able to do her business by paying the rent of a place. Same thing for the film producer (played by the director) who is desperately trying to produce his first film and who uses the bar to form an unlikely artistic cast. In addition to the vicissitudes of the two bar managers, there is also the parallel story of a ghost who claims to have lived with the film producer in ancient Rome. Fantasy? It depends on your point of view: the discussion on reincarnation is always fascinating. It might seem like a chaotic film but in the end it all adds up. Then the final twist left me stunned.

Italian comedy film, very original
marilenagaier18 February 2024
I watched this film on Prime Video, the beginning is a bit slow, but when the story gets to the heart it intrigues you and entertains you. I'm especially referring to when the unexpected guest appears in the bar and then a ghost from ancient Rome at a film producer's house. They seem like two different and surprising stories, but then in the end they come together in a beautiful ending, in my opinion, brilliant. It is not a comedy film in the strict sense of the word, there is a lot of irony, and in this irony we capture the miseries of life, a melancholy aspect that makes us reflect. It's a provincial story, it takes place in Trieste, Italy. A very particular city, just as particular is the film.
