The Sentinels was the original development name for the two tower blocks that were officially named as Clydesdale and Cleveland Towers. Clydesdale and Cleveland are names of work horses that would have pulled carts into and out of Birmingham, across the land where the two towers are situated.
Dorothy Towers is the unofficial name given to the two tower blocks by the LGBT+ community in Birmingham, as in 'friends of Dorothy'.
