Burgess (Marina Squerciati) is outstanding in this episode. Her physicality and intensity are so accurate and true to Complex Post-Traumatic Stress sufferers. The therapist's explanation about being trapped and life "narrowing" is a much-needed look into the collateral damage that first responders and law enforcement suffer in a post-pandemic world. I enjoy the blurred lines between entertainment and the true-to-life drama of Chicago PD. I'm looking forward to the relationship between Burgess and Ruzek unfolding on the other side of this harrowing episode. Keep up the great episodes. #OneChicagoFam #fan.

"Trapped"

Warning: Spoilers
Even though there wasn't the ending to the case I expected, this was still a very solid episode. After a few moments of familial bliss with Ruzek and Makayla, Burgess' shooting PTSD rears it's ugly head early on, and she is finally forced to talk to a professional about it. Aside from an earlier episode, where it was made clear she had some issues to sort through, this is the first real mention of the trauma Burgess went through - hopefully we see a lot more, as it is a very important subject.

Marina Squerciati's acting was top-notch in every scene she had, but especially in the apartment scene and, later, on the train. Which was one of the more inventive sequences we have yet scene from Chicago PD. Ruzek's pursuit of the shooter through the carriages and then, in the dark, through the tunnels, was cinematic in it's style. Well done to whoever came up with that.

Kim

Never liked Kim...still dont. I find her incompetent. Is she even fit to have a gun??? She is annoying!!! Not sure if it's her over acting or her facial expressions. It's time for her to leave Chicago PD!!! Well overdue!!!

Poor Adam has to deal with her mood swings, irratic behaviour. He didn't sign up for this. Who would have thought he would be the responsible one.

I get it she has PTSD but she should have been dealing with it before now (counselling etc). She has a kid to take care of. All this "I AM WOMAN hear me roar" nonsense has to stop!!!!

I really didnt want to watch this episode but I didnt want to miss anything with the other characters. Too much focus on Kim is not appealing.....

Lucas was such a sweet cute little boy.

Case storyline never came to satisfactory conclusion
spooforever2 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm glad Burgess is getting help. She's a liability to herself, her team and civilians while on the job like that. Burgess and her storyline are important, but the writers made it so important they forgot to even tell us why a mother and father would kill their nephew just because he found out the truth about their older son. What was the original motivation for lying, hiding and eventually trying to kill their older son??? It was obviously more important than their older son or their baby both of whom just became orphans. We'll never know. This show's in it's 10 season. I've watched every episode. They should be able to do better than this.

Worst Episode of The Season

What did I just watch? Kim was displaying PTSD the entire episode and everyone knowingly witnessed it. Yet she just kept on trekking anyway through the whole episode? This show has a really big problem with its female cast. Kim can't stop getting beaten up on and Haley just can't stop whining and blatantly disregarding her direct boss' orders. I've watched this show from the very beginning and love every single episode and season, but I'm curious to see where they go from here. Perhaps throwing back the ADA from last week's episode and her relationship with Vogt could save things. The best women leads they have always die or transfer out.

Well not GG and not WP

Warning: Spoilers
Compared to the episode of last week, this had zero connection to the viewer. YOu get dragged along for the ride, but neither is it enjoyable nor does it make any sense what so ever.

For me personally it would have made sense if burgess would have stepped away after this episode, but as far as i know she didnt, also what is with all the absenseces especially from the newest member of the squad who supposodly has to bring in a new dynamic?

What is with void how can he just sit idly while Kim is going of the rail so fast?

And how is adam ok with this??

There is no point in this episode it would have been one of the worst ways to end burgess. It leaves the viewer speechless but not in a good sense.

Definetly the low point of the whole series until now.

show going downhill fast
Lythas_8529 March 2023
Now that we have soft voight, the show is going bad episode after episode.. the ones with jay were ok. He used to be a boyscout then became almost like voight.. more nuanced, which was great.. then he got together with always constipated face hailey and things just became terrible.

Now it is her being whiny over jay ghosting her... so her arc this season is just whining? Ok understood..

burgees, having PTSD and of course, displaying the basic empowered, independent, dont need no man telling me what to do... while pretty much putting everybody in danger.. specially adam... him trying to get her to talk about it and her pushing him away.. imagine if it were the other way around. Or hailey and jay with jay being the one having ptsd.. we all know what would happen, specially with hailey.. she would corner him and order him to get it fixed or she would tell voight.. after all, her breakdowns could kill her partner.. but since it is a woman, nobody tells her off.

Best episodes have been with kevin and now with the new guy, torres.. by far the best ones this season.

Hated this episode
MyEinsamkeit15 March 2023
The last previous epsiode was amazing. Felt like i was watching Season 1-5 again. This crap with Burgess was just awful. I wish they ditch the whole family storyline, they need to get rid of the daugther off the show somehow lol and just let Burgess and Ruzek be friends or in a relationship.

As for Burgess mental issues or whatever, its long over due, moved on already haha. This isn't Chicago Bold and the Beautiful.

Anyways, this episode was boring, tiresome and i didn't care for the action which was stupid. As usual they have Burgess running around chasing bad guys by herself and as usual she puts herself in danger. Sigh. Skipped this episode. You're not missing anything.

Poor Burgess...
RoverGuy23 February 2023
She is becoming the Sgt Olivia Benson of Chicago PD. She has been shot, kidnapped, shot at, beaten, traumatized so many times, engaged to two officers, adopted a kid, etc. It is almost if the Dick Wolf writers need a punching bag for their shows. Any police force would have forced retirement on her (and Olivia).

The story lines this season seem focused on one team member and the rest of the squad are background, secondary characters. I miss the earlier seasons where the case the ENTIRE squad was working on was the main story line, not the character drama.

And what happened to Makayla? Who is watching her? She was seen in the beginning, but the case took at least a day.
