“I know I come across as quite confident,” says newswoman Philomena Cunk, “but sometimes when I’m talking to experts, I worry that, you know, I might come across as quite stupid.”
This is easily the most self-aware moment for Cunk throughout the five-episode British mockumentary series Cunk on Earth, which began streaming on Netflix this week. As played by Diane Morgan, Cunk is a naive simpleton who can barely grasp any of the subjects she discusses, filtering everything through an extremely narrow and modern lens. As she attempts to...

Cucumber – Channel 4, 9pm
Russell T Davies' comeback continues with episode two of Cucumber – less emotionally raw and so an easier watch than last week's opener.
Henry (Vincent Franklin) stumbles into trouble at work, while his relationship is a shambles, but the only thing that's really on his mind is Freddie (Freddie Fox).
The Good Wife – More4, 9pm
The slick yet powerful Us drama – the recipient of multiple Emmys and Golden Globes – returns for a sixth season.
In tonight's premiere, Alicia's firm comes under fire, while she continues to resist running for State's Attorney.
Fortitude – Sky Atlantic, 9pm
Much-anticipated, Sky Atlantic's chilling drama kicks off tonight with a feature-length series premiere.
By the time those 110 minutes are up, you still won't quite know what Fortitude is all about. But two things are certain – it looks absolutely spectacular and the all-star cast (including Christopher Eccleston, Stanley Tucci and Sofie Grabol) are superb.

Charlie Brooker has defended his BBC Two show Weekly Wipe.
A Twitter user branded the programme "lazy" after Brooker announced that tonight's (February 13) sixth episode would be a compilation of previously aired footage, as well as new material.
Brooker tweeted: "We do 5 regular eps then a comp ep because that's what we're commissioned to do, btw. So the 'new' stuff is on the house. That's My Spin."
The broadcaster then shared a comment he had received from a follower, which read: "F**king hate it when people do that. Lazy. I will not be watching."
Brooker joked: "We chiefly do the comp for the positive viewer feedback."
In a series of tweets, he went on to explain that for a longer run of the series to be possible, they would have to greatly expand the production team and alter the show's format.

Charlie Brooker has revealed that Black Mirror will return to Channel 4 with two new "helping[s]".
The writer previously told Digital Spy that "scheduling and other issues" have held up work on the next set of episodes.
"There will be more - I don't think I'm allowed to say quite when," Brooker told Lauren Laverne on her BBC Radio 6Music show today (January 9).
"There's going to be some and then there's going to be some more - you'll get one helping and then there'll be another helping."
Brooker did not confirm whether the dark anthology series would be returning for two single instalments or two more series.
Robert Downey Jr previously purchased the film rights to 2011 episode 'The Entire History of You', though Brooker told Laverne that he is "not really involved" in the planned adaptation.
"I'm not really involved in that - that was Jesse Armstrong's episode," he said.

Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe will return to BBC Two in early 2014.
The series will follow Brooker's annual hour-long Christmas and New Year roundup Charlie Brooker's 2013 Wipe.
"Whether it's news, or film, TV, or Twitter, if it's making the agenda and it's worth pointing a finger and laughing at Charlie will tackle it," said producers.
"And if there's nothing to tackle, then expect lengthy chunks on the worst adverts or most pointless events."
Doug Stanhope returns to the show, as do the show's own Philomena Cunk and Barry S**tpeas, in addition to brand-new contributors Brian Limond and Jake Yapp.
The show is written and presented by Brooker, with Annabel Jones and Nick Vaughan-Smith as executive producer and Ali Marlow as series producer.
