rain,woodpeakers, the closet
Kirpianuscus9 January 2024
A lady after the funeral of her husband.

A first woodpeaker on coffin.

The restaurant and the alms transformed in chaos after expressions of grief of widow.

The explanation of death of man circomstances - an accident, a woodpeaker , the try to hide the infidelity of wife and the fall of her husband.

The drawings, the traits of characters - the widow is the only woman in animation, her try to burn - in proper sense- the past and leave it are , near the taste of ashes of story, the precious gifts of this simple and beautiful crafted short animation about grief in a nuanced- precise- admirable manner.

In short, just inspired exploration of familiar pieces of ordinary life .

The pleasure of discomfort
nityasakti17 January 2024
Capturing the authenticity of the most complex emotions and painful experiences that are both individual and universal in 20 minutes of an animated story is the greatest success of this film. The constant feeling of discomfort and the desire to escape from the created situations and successive images of this film, but at the same time being attached to the plot itself and experiencing a part of the main character's life are the best description of the experience of watching Eeva. The animation is wonderful, the music accompanies every part of the story, and the script is minimal, which facilitates the experience of emotional catharsis.

Well shown dark side of the grief and event

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting retro style, unique faces, the music, well presented emotions of grief and anger(?), the chaos of emotions after the death. Widowed woman surrounded by the men serving her.

Drowning sadness with booze, unleashing rage and overwhelming emotions.

An attempt to hide the cheating from herself and her now dead husband.

Loved the portrayal of the woodpecker, the second it shows, it dies, as if she hated him and in the end "haunted" by them.

Despite her attempt to move on and leave, she decided to go back and embrace it all.

Definitely worth to watch, enjoyed it every second as it really has shown the dark side of the grief and regular events in the everyday life that we don't even know about.
