Turns into melodrama
The "taboo" in the Pure Taboo series has become worn-out, especially overworked topics like faux incest and abuse of women. This pair of tales is more like ordinary porn, making me wonder if those fans who revel in the show's negativity will remain satisfied. In other words, if one is a vicarious woman-hater, is this move "towards the center" (to borrow a cliche from the world of politics) disappointing?
Title story is merely a corny hotwifing segment. Chase Arcangel brings his Black pal Davon Drake home for a family dinner, and Davon ends up being (easily) seduced into a threeway with Chase's parents Mona Wales and Mike Mancini.
If that sounds silly, add in that Davon is having a sleepover with Chase and I wondered whether a "Bi" porn or Gay porn story would be in the offing, but instead we have daddy Mancini inviting Davon to do some impromptu hotwifing with Mike joining in. It's standard gonzo action with no further plot twist.
Supporting program is awful, with usually reliable director Kay Brandt indulging in bathos and soap opera that is ludicrous. Son Jay Romero contrives to manipulate his new girlfriend into a replica of his dead mother, in order to jolt his daddy Tommy Pistol out of his 18-month-old bout with depression. Pistol's overacting is terrible as usual to the point of being embarrassing, but both he and Lacy Lennon as the girlfriend completely forget their characters once the sex ensues.
