I initially was going to say that A Christmas Carol: Scrooge's Ghostly Tale probably looked pretty good when it was released, but then I realized that this computer-animated film came out in 2006. Here's a few other CGI movies that came out BEFORE this one: Toy Story 1 & 2, A Bug's Life, Shrek 1 & 2, Monsters, Inc., Ice Age, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, The Polar Express, Robots, Madagascar, Chicken Little, Hoodwinked!, Cars, Monster House, and Open Season-all of which look MUCH better than this movie. Honestly, it's not a bad adaptation for children, it's just hard to get past the look of it.

Pretty alright

For what it's worth it's a pretty good spin on the classic tale. Was really confused at the part where that ugly skunk pulled his cane out and started beating orphans to a bloody pulp, they kinda lost me at that point, but it didn't ruin the experience for me.
why CGI ?

A decent to nice adaptation . The only problem, for me, was only the use of CGI who makes artificial , to fake, entire story.
No doubts, good intentions and the idea to use a fable structure for craft A Christmas Carol is far to be bad. But, it works not so...smart in this case, reminding, too much, the modest ( to poor )educational animations for babies .
Unfair, in same measure, to be too critic. Because the spirit of story is faithful respected and the characters are just seductive , like the atmosphere . The end is sweet and careful crafted and you feel the emotion in fair terms, like a good , cold air in Christmas Eve behind the opened window. So, the only problem, why CGI ?

Bad Adaptation

Warning: Spoilers
A Christmas Carol is my favourite Christmas story, so it always disappoints me to see a bad adaptation like this one. It was bad primarily because ...
1.) Too many unanswered questions. These include why Scrooge's dad was so cold, how Scrooge became as mean as he was, and how Tiny Tim turned into a scrooge instead of dying like in the real story. And that's only three of them.
2.) Too many unnecessary moments that didn't happen in the real story. These include Scrooge seeing Marley at the end of his time with the Ghost of Christmas Future, and after becoming nice. Neither of those moments added value and they both had me asking, "Why'd they include this?".
I'm pretty sure this adaptation was for kids and early teens. I first saw this movie at 13 and even then I didn't find it memorable. So I would recommend staying away from it.
