BJ has never been a standout character on this show, but he has shined a lot in the third season, where most of the cast has kind of stood still or gotten worse, given some of the peculiar storylines.
The idea of him getting into a fight with his wife's adulterer, and that man wearing no clothes, is the kind of over the top comedy that only a Danny McBride show on HBO could do.
But overall this show seems to really be missing the mark this season. There is no story I am really invested in and I don't know what epic moment they are even trying to build tension and anticipation toward in the season finale.
