"SpongeBob SquarePants" is one of the best cartoon shows out there, but as most of us already know, the modern-day SpongeBob, from Season 6 to the middle of Season 9 is absolutely awful. This episode only shows how terrible the beginning of Season 9 was.
"Little Yellow Book" is absolutely awful, I personally disliked the way Squidward laughed at all of SpongeBob's secrets. It has little comedy and doesn't really use jokes, maybe it has a FEW good moments – but otherwise it stinks. Maybe you'll like this type of episode, but I generally hate this episode. The main reason why I disliked it is not because Squidward was reading someone else's diary and not feeling bad about it (OK - that's one of the reasons) but because it is completely DULL and everyone just laughs at SpongeBob. I know it is supposed to be humorous, but it's not nice to laugh at someone because he has a secret. Maybe the old writers could've done a much better job at this episode, but the modern writers can't write good jokes. That's one of the problems with Modern SpongeBob SquarePants – a complete lack of jokes and ripping-off older episodes. I give this episode a 1/10. If I could, I'd give it a 0.
The sister episode is "Bumper to Bumper" which is also a bit dull and is trying to rip-off the older boating school episodes like "No Free Rides" and "Mrs. Puff, You're Fired". It's too dull to describe it. I'm giving it a 3/10.
