Sex & Nudity

  • The iscandarians in this show wears pretty revealing clothing, but no private parts are completly shown.
  • Crew is seen in skin tight uniforms throughout the entire show
  • A garmillan female is seen in just her underwear (panties and bra-like things covering up most of her boobs)
  • Near the end of the show, most of the yamato crew (and a garmillan female) takes a swin in the ocean of a distant planet. They are seen in swimwear, and this scene lasts for a minute or two
  • There's a bath scene with two characters completely nude (they're woman) breasts are shown but nipples aren't drawn.

Violence & Gore

  • This show has many ship-to-ship combat scenes. Most of the time we only see ships explode, but sometimes people gets sucked into space. Blood is seen flowing around in zero gravity inside spaceships in a few scenes
  • Some scenes contains people getting shot by firearms, usually result in blood appearing.

Profanity

  • Mostly mild words, like: Damn, Hell, ect.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • We often see people get drunk during ceremonies aboard the Yamato.
  • The ship's doctor often has a large bottle of sake. He also makes many references involving alcohol.
  • The main antagonists (the Garmillans) often consume wine-like liquids.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • We see a man getting sucked into the vacuum of space during a flashback-esque scene.
  • In the first episode, we are introduced to earth near the end of the 22th century, which has bern nearly rendered uninhabitable due to asteroid bombs sent from the antagonists. We get to see some of the cities being completly wiped out by asteroids.
  • In episode 14, some aliens with special powers haunts the Yamato and messes with the mind of the crew. We get to see intense moments from the past of two main characters. This episode has a pretty unsetteling tone, and may frighten some of the younger viewers.
  • There are several scenes involving people getting shot by guns from both humans and fighter planes, most of which involves some minor bloodshed
  • The Garmillans destroys the surface of a planet with giant missiles, beam weapons and warplanes.
  • Overall, this show has a positive atmosphere, with only some scenes being presented with a dark tone. The crew aboard the Yamato often struggle with the pain of losing close friends and family to the enemy.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The first battle in the series involves an entire fleet being completly annihilated (except from the flagship) by the main antagonists. This battle is more emotionally intense than frightening
