A group of friends gather at a baby shower when a strange illness starts turning people into homicidal maniacs. Being creatures of suburbia, they have limited skills with which to meet this survival challenge.
Killer Party was a pretty decent indie horror flick. There was some pretty good acting and they did well using such a large cast in such a small set. There were some enjoyable characters, but unfortunately, when they started to die off, there was no emotion to anything. And when they died off, we didn't really get to see a lot of the kills. So that's a pretty big downfall when it comes to a zombie style film. I also think that being a horror comedy, it should have been funnier. The film did have its moments, but I think it needed a lot more considering that they didn't really leave the one location. So we needed less of the drama and more jokes.
This didn't really classify as a zombie film, so I liked that. I thought they were doing something different with making these people more rabid, but have personalities to them still rather than mindless zombies just hungry for their next meal. Though the story also lacked direction halfway through. When it's going nowhere, you're just kind of waiting for it to end. And with a film like this, you need that point B. You need a place for them to go to make the audience want to still be invested in the film. I liked the characters. I thought we had a wide variety and their personalities were entertaining and it made me either care for them.
