This film certainly does not have not have the highest production values, a name cast or an audience friendly plot. What it does have is intrigue and originality. It certainly will not please people who like traditional storytelling with an ending all tied up in a bow (although different, Primer comes to mind).
The story is at first confusing, illogical and frustrating. I initially assumed the plot was a jumbled mess and almost turned off a number of times. As the movie progressed and as my confused thoughts began to make sense, I really enjoyed the game being played with the viewer. The payoff, however, was so good I re-watched the movie to ensure I understood what had happening (and I think I understand most of it now). It's always a bonus when a repeat viewing offers even more than the initial viewing. It would be fair to say that this flick, while short on budget is dripping with ideas.
I am the 1 in 100 that enjoys movies like Deceit. Don't even bother if low-budget, indie thinkers aren't your thing. That said, if you pass, you won't know what you're missing.
