There's a real human drama at the heart of this but unfortunately you have to search to find it.The first half of the episode, aside from a few annoying moments with Brax, is close to perfect, with Heath struggling to hold it together and Bianca becoming more and more withdrawn. But in the second half of the episode, you're left wondering when or if they're going to reappear.Bianca moving back in with Irene was kind of inevitable but worrying all the same and, as ever, we don't see several key characters' reactions.Which is a shame because the two scenes between Brax and Heath are the best Home and Away's been in a long while, with Brax's helpless reaction to the news and Heath reminiscing about the things he thought about doing with his son.
Brax, Casey and Natalie finally return to Summer Bay but sadly it only serves to reinforce Brax's selfishness(or at least single-mindedness)and Natalie's blindness, as she raises Brax to sainthood even while breaking up with him(and it's hard to believe that's personal).Brax's reluctance to take Casey to hospital is just frustrating but it's never really addressed. It feels like the audience are meant to hate Sid and Emerson for doing their job and side with Brax and Natalie's smug superiority. At least Casey continues to be sympathetic.
Gina's paranoia has never felt more out of place that it does here:With everything else that's going on, do we really care about her shouting at Marilyn for something she hasn't done? Not really.
