The Spy Who Entertained Me,
lesleyharris308 October 2012
The Spy Who Learned Me is a terrific Simpsons episode with a good storyline and plenty of funny jokes throughout the episode. It also has a terrific guest appearance from Malcolm In The Middle and Breaking Bads Bryan Cranston as Homers James Bond-like imaginary friend Stradivarius Cain.I especially liked the scenes with the other imaginary friends, which I found to be very funny,I also enjoyed the sub plot and Eric Idles appearance.

After another lousy date night,Marge is very angry with Homer,so Homer makes an imaginary friend from the movie they where watching to make Homer into a man Marge cant resist.Meanwhile,as revenge for Nelson taking his lunch money,Bart gives Nelson a month free coupon to Krusty Burger that makes him very fat.

So-so season 23

This one was just an okay episode. The last ten years of The Simpsons have had some great episodes, but plenty of just okay episodes as well - much more than the prior seasons.

I think this episode's saving grace is Bryan Cranston as Stradivarius Cain, the American James Bond super agent. Cranston is great in everything from Seinfeld to Malcolm in the Middle to Breaking Bad, and he creates a great character in Cain. The only time the episode really takes off is when Cain is involved. He's a hilarious imaginary friend.

The episode plot is pretty standard, Homer gets hit on the head and ends up with eight weeks paid vacation to recuperate. This, of course, is hidden from the family. But Homer may have more nobler intent than you think.
