While fans have gone wild over the Pitbull cover in “Bridgerton” Season 3’s climactic carriage scene, showrunner Jess Brownell admitted she was “nervous” to see the audience response.
“I picked the Pitbull song and I was a little nervous, because it’s an unusual choice that it might take people out of the scene,” Brownell told TheWrap. “But it’s been so wonderful to see that people have taken to it, that actually it’s given that scene even more depth.”
Brownell added that she knew the carriage scene — which features a steamy, intimate moment between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) after Colin confesses his romantic feelings for his longtime friend — was strong, admitting she “had a good feeling that people were going to respond to it.”

“Bridgerton” Season 3 is here, and with it comes a new collection of string covers of iconic pop songs. The Shondaland Netflix series made a mark with its first season by packing the regency-era period story with string quartet covers of modern pop songs, and the trend continues in the new season that puts the focus on a romance between Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton).
“Bridgerton” Season 3 Part 1 also features the Netflix show’s first-ever original song: “All I Want” is written by Rogét Chahayed (Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More”), Wesley Singerman (Jennifer Lopez’s “Butterfly”), Taylor Dexter (Joji’s “Die for You”) and Nicole Cohen (Meghan Trainor’s “Sensitive”). Tori Kelly performs the song on the soundtrack, and the orchestral version was arranged by “Bridgerton” composer Kris Bowers.

Lord Pitbull has officially joined the ton. Last week, Netflix premiered the first four episodes from Bridgerton‘s highly-anticipated third season, which centers its plot around Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. Their slow-burning, friends-to-lovers romance reaches a heated point in the back of a carriage during that fourth episode — and the pivotal moment is soundtracked by an orchestral version of Pitbull‘s 2011 hit single “Give Me Everything.”

There are many things that people find so fascinating about Bridgerton. Some enjoy the Regency fashion, others get caught up in the romantic tropes that each sibling's love story represents, and some are just there for the fun of the balls and the instrumental covers of modern songs.
The latter, for example, is exactly what made Bridgerton go viral again after season 3. And while the instrumental version of Pitbull’s hit Give Me Everything breaks all the charts thanks to Penelope and Colin’s romantic scene, there is one pop hit of the same era that has been banished from the season altogether.
Benedict and Lady Tilley’s Dance
While season 3, part 1 of Bridgerton wasn't particularly exciting for the second son of the family, Benedict, who did his best to avoid young debutantes, he did have some intriguing encounters with a strong-willed and open-minded widow, Lady Tilley Arnold.

The idea of artists needing a “career reboot” often has as much to do with the petulant impatience of content-saturated fans than the actual situation of the artist in question. But in the case of Sia, the urgency of a course correction is hard to deny. Sia broke out from the ranks of top-level songwriters-for-hire in 2014 with the self-emptying party-kamikaze ginormity of “Chandelier.” Her 2017 album This is Acting was a concept record of sorts that repurposed songs she’d originally written with singers like Adele and Rihanna in mind, of...

Celebrities, they’re just like us. Lauren Graham found fame with Gilmore Girls and became known for her quirky characters. However, Graham isn’t immune to being star-struck despite her fame and success as an actor.
Graham recently revealed that she was so star-struck with Bernadette Peters that she wandered into the Broadway star’s fitting while working on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

Peters is a star, and it’s understandable that even fellow celebrities worship her talent. Gilmore Girls star Graham recently sat down with Sam Pancake to talk about her years in show business. She, however, clarified that the only person who didn’t do so was Peters, saying the Emmy nominee sang all her songs live and in one take.

Zickel is playing Pa Archer, a gaunt but imposing figurehead that has a commanding energy balanced by an instinctive compassion. In the throes of a brutal Montana winter, Pa’s steadfastness and sense of purpose—along with the skills he learned as a soldier in the Civil War—are the foundation on which his family’s survival rests. Digital distributor Giant Pictures has acquired Drafthouse Films, the genre movie label formed by Alamo Drafthouse founder Tim League.
Giant Pictures general manager Nick Savva will serve as CEO of the company, which will continue to operate under the title Drafthouse Films. League will become the chairman of Drafthouse Films.
“Giant Pictures’ investment enables Drafthouse Films to continue releasing the provocative, visionary, and artfully unusual genre films from around the world that have always defined the Drafthouse brand,” Savva said. “At the same time, this acquisition gives Giant new theatrical releasing capabilities which complement our existing digital distribution and streaming technology businesses.”
Drafthouse Films was created as the distribution arm of Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in 2010 before being spun off from the exhibitor. Past titles on Drafthouse Films’ slate were “Bullhead,” “The Act of Killing,” “Spring” and “Cheap Thrills.” Giant Pictures partners with studios and filmmakers to release movies and TV shows across major streaming platforms,...

The typical toddler tends to relate more to the cuddly animals in a Disney cartoon than their own flesh and blood playmates. Robert Crumb and his brother Charles were anything but typical toddlers yet the boys were preoccupied with what was known as “funny animal comics”—everything from Bugs Bunny to Pogo. Their fascination took on an obsessive twist; for Robert the material was inspiration for his remarkable future as an artist, for Charles it was a trip down a long, dark rabbit hole. Bernadette Peters has earned her first Primetime Emmy nomination in 20 years thanks to her guest spot on “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.” The Tony-winning actress reprised her role as Deb, the vivacious friend of Maggie (Mary Steenburgen) who bonds with her over the loss of their husbands. Peters embraced the challenge of playing such an outgoing role. “I love playing different types of characters and this character is so not me,” says Peters in an exclusive new webchat with Gold Derby. “She’s gregarious, and an extrovert, which is totally the opposite of who I am.” Watch the video interview above.

Kate Hudson scored her second career Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Zu in “Music,” the feature directorial debut from three-time Globe nominated and nine-time Grammy-nominated Australian singer-songwriter Sia. In “Music,” Hudson plays a rebellious free spirit who is newly sober and estranged from her family. She finds herself the sole guardian of her teenage half-sister Music (Maddie Ziegler), who is on the autism spectrum. As she struggles with her new responsibility, Zu looks to her friend, neighbor Ebo (Leslie Odom Jr), for guidance and support. Five years is an eternity in pop. In 2016, This Is Acting, anchored by the moody party hit “Cheap Thrills,” cemented Sia’s status as a pop star. But in the time since, she’s seemed uncertain of her next step, and her moves were hesitant and tentative. There was a Christmas album, a collaboration with Diplo and the British rapper Labirinth as a group called LSD, and a string of singles that mostly went nowhere commercially, four of which surface on the soundtrack to the film that preoccupied Sia for much of that interim.

With Jakob's WIfe he finds himself back in the director's chair with a cast of indie horror all-stars. Not only does the Barbara Crampton take up the lead, but independent horror legend Larry Fessenden shares that spotlight in this upcoming film. “The Masked Singer’ has reached week 7 of season 2 but the November 20 episode won’t be lucky for one of the four celebrities competing. They’ll be sent home by the four judges. Singing for the make-or-break votes of the studio audience are four stars disguised as the Flamingo, Flower, Leopard and Rottweiler.
Of this quartet, the strongest singer is the celebrity clad from head to toe as the Flower. She first won us over back in week 3 when she delivered a toe-tapping rendition of the Dolly Parton classic “9 to 5.” In week 5, her voice soared to new heights with her cover of the Sia hit “Cheap Thrills.” And in week 7, she rocked the crowd with her take on “Amazed” by Lonestar.
We’ve studied these three previous performances by the Flower and have repeatedly rewatched her clues video. We are sure we’ve figured out which famous face is hidden underneath that Flower mask.
