The second season of Ash vs. Evil Dead ended with Ash being celebrated as a hero of Elk Grove. Naturally, this will carry over into the upcoming third season, which will be with us early next year.
Unfortunately, Starz hasn’t given us much to feast on just yet, but a new image has been released today (seen above) courtesy of TV Insider along with a quote from Bruce Campbell himself, who explains what Ash has been up to since we last saw him.
“Ash—like any shallow person—is determined to cash in on his fame. [Ash is] revving up the crowd at the grand opening of Ashy Slashy’s Hardware (and Sex Toy) Emporium.”
If there were ever a business for Ash, I don’t think it could get any more accurate than that. This also goes to show just how much his character has developed over the course of the show.

Well, Bruce Campbell did promise a jaw-dropping third season.
In honor of Halloween, Starz has today unleashed the groovy, decidedly Nsfw first teaser for Ash Vs. Evil Dead, which sadly won’t return until February of next year – a first for the horror sequel series, given previous instalments have dropped in the fall. The good news is that Ash Williams (Campbell) hasn’t lost his knack for slaying Deadites in the most gruesome ways imaginable, and above you’ll see our zombie-killing hero reunite with his long-lost daughter.
What follows is a gory, blood-drenched descent into madness, and while ratings slumped mid-way through season 2, all signs point to Ash Vs. Evil Dead firing on all cylinders in time for 2018. Behind the scenes, Sam Raimi still holds an executive producer credit on the horror-themed spinoff, though Starz’s series has now been placed in the hands of showrunner Craig Digregorio.

Game of Thrones may be the most-pirated television show in the land – season 7 alone was reportedly pirated over a billion times – but it’s not the only one to fall prey to illegal torrents.
Take Ash Vs. Evil Dead as an example. The cult horror series, which began life as a sequel to Sam Raimi’s iconic trilogy, chronicles the post-apocalyptic journey of Ash Williams, who hasn’t lost his appetite for slaughtering Deadites left, right, and center, even on the wrong side of 50.
And though Starz’s Ash Vs. Evil Dead has carved out an audience to call its own, particularly as that audience braces for the oncoming third season, Bruce Campbell (Williams) has gone on record to criticize those who seek out new episodes via illicit channels. The actor, who is known for his signature sarcasm, voiced his frustration during a recent book signing in Sacramento (via 1428 Elm...

For two years on the trot, Ash Vs. Evil Dead laid claim to Starz’s Halloween slate, serving up a delightfully over-the-top dish of blood, guts, and chainsaw-wielding maniacs.
With season 3, though, the network has shuffled its deck in such a way that the horror-comedy series, one rustled up by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy, has now relocated to winter – February 25th, 2018, to be specific – for its third year on the airwaves. Exactly how Ash Vs. Evil Dead will fare in this new slot is up for question, but with Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) now being championed as a “humanity-saving hometown hero,” we imagine Deadites across the globe will be tuning in come February.
Indeed, as part of the show’s presence at New York Comic Con this past weekend, Campbell told those in attendance that season 3 will be “really, really different” – so different, in fact, that we...

As you no doubt know by now, Starz has finally announced when season 3 of their hit series, Ash vs. Evil Dead, will be back on our screens. Unlike previous years, the new run will premiere in February instead of October. It’s a bit of a bummer that we’ll have to wait until 2018 to see more of the show, to be sure, but to tide us over, the network has now released a couple of new photos to tease what’s to come.
From the press release sent out earlier this week, we already know to expect “more grisly battles, ghoulish banter and more blood-drenched fun than ever.” Not only that, but Ash will apparently be a “humanity-saving hometown hero” when things pick back up, and the official plot synopsis teases the following:
“The third season finds Ash’s status in Elk Grove, Michigan has changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero.

Blood Soaked is about a bi-curious female college Freshman who gets kidnapped by two sisters who are the degenerate descendants of German Nazis living out in the American desert, who are trying to create an army of zombie soldiers using zombie serum left over from World War II, in order to rebuild the Third Reich. Describing the film this way, I know it might come across sounding a little you know, cheesy, but the strength of Blood Soaked is that it never goes for camp appeal, rather choosing to play its story straight and to depict its two ill-fated college students as real people who happen to be lesbian, rather than characters who are defined by being lesbian.
In fact, the writing in Blood Soaked is all around strong. Writer/director Peter Grendle understands story structure, and knows how to create interesting, likeable characters. Even...

I’m not sure where exactly to start when talking about Blood Soaked. I considered including a brief plot synopsis so that I could more freely associate with whatever other elements of the film I felt required more discussion. I thought about opening with my surprise that there was archive footage of Adolf Hitler in the opening credits. I even wondered if I’d be called out for bad criticism form for considering just second-screening the rest of the movie ten minutes in.
But really, I can’t talk about anything in Blood Soaked before I talk about its technical limitations. And, really, “technical limitations” is a generous euphemism. The quality of filmmaking on show in much of the film is on par with the worst of what some of my classmates were doing in...

I have been a Blue Underground fanboy for quite a while now, as I have quite an impressive collection of their Blu-ray releases. This will be the first Blue Underground title that I have reviewed for the site, and what a title to start with. Blue Underground’s Blood Soaked Double Feature, is two Bruno Mattei films on Blu-ray for the price of one, and it’s quite an interesting pairing, I must say. The set consists of Hell of the Living Dead, following by Rats: Night of Terror. I have seen Hell of the Living Dead several times, but this marks the first time that I’ve seen Rats. If you want to follow the format given to us, you would watch Hell of the Living Dead first, but the truth of the matter is, these two films compliment each other so well that you could reverse it and...

Lesbians vs. Nazi zombies, you say? Okay, I'm interested. Having made an impression on the genre festival circuit in 2013, director Peter Grendle's Blood Soaked is now splashing its way onto DVD and VOD this June 17, courtesy of Wild Eye Releasing. Check out the trailer right here!

We’re back with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes Save Yourself first details, a new clip from The Well, a look at the first four minutes from Discopath, the teaser trailer for Bestseller, and much more:
New Clip from The Well and Screening Details: “At the edge of an expansive barren valley, all that remains of The Wallace Farm for Wayward Youth is a few hollowed-out husks of buildings. Seventeen-year-old Kendal (Haley Lu Richardson) can barely recall when the Oregon valley was still lush. It’s been a decade since the last rainfall, and society at large has dried up and blown away. Kendal and the few others that remain barely scrape by, while dreaming of escape. When a greedy water baron lays claim to what little of the precious resource remains underground, Kendal must decide whether...

Every now and then an indie flick surfaces that just demand a viewing or so, Peter Grendle’s forthcoming tale Blood Soaked looks to be one of those pictures. Really, who isn’t intrigued by a group of college lesbians fighting for their lives against a group of orphaned Nazis? I know for a fact: I’m all in! The synopsis reads short and sweet, “A lesbian college couple becomes stranded in the middle of nowhere with a pack of orphaned Nazi teenagers hellbent on their demise.” With the trailer now live online, I’ve got to say the flick looks about as cool as that brief summation; lesbians, violence, murder, loads...
