Quotes

  • Lizzie : So... Headline: Steven knows Emma's name.

    Jude : Say what?

Helen : Yeah, I'll trade you for your burger.

Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : You can have it.

    Helen : You sure?

Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : Yeah, I just wanted the fries.

Jude : Okay, wait, so, Emma and Steven? I kinda like that.

Lizzie : Yeah. We have one week on the island to work our weebee magic and get young Emma here laid at the quarterback.

Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : Do I have a saying in this?

Lizzie : No. Not at all.

Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : We're there to be helping people.

Lizzie : And I'm trying to *help* *you*.

Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : We have jobs to do, Lizzie. I have looked at the itinerary.

Jude : You made the itinerary.

Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : [laughs]  The school has every day and night planned.

Lizzie : So? We'll change the plans. I mean, that's life, right? Oh, and btdubs, I just found out that Carnival in Trinidad is when we're there.

Helen : Oh my God, I totally have to get a new bathing suit!

    Lizzie : Really?

    Emmaline 'Emma' Robinson : What?

Lizzie : Emma's scoping Lonely Boy!

Helen : Oh! He was in my middle school. He used to be really nice.

Lizzie : Yeah, used to be. I heard he got kicked out of the last school he was in.

Jude : No! I think he's kinda cute. In like a Rebel Without a Cause, Holden Caulfield kind of way.

Lizzie : Let me make it simple. Girls like our Em don't hook up with freaks like whats-his-face! Especially when she's got the quarterback on the hook.

Ms. Collier : [walks by Dean and sees him with his knife]  You can hand me that now. You can follow me to the principal's office.

Dean McMullen : Well, then, lead the way.

[other students in the cafeteria jeer]

Lizzie : Looks like someone's not going on the trip.

  • Mr. Christiansen : [after the students were caught by the police on a party boat the previous night]  Please put your suitcases by the door to be loaded into the awaiting cabs. And I'd especially like to thank those of you who brought this unique opportunity to an abrupt end. Welcome, gentlemen. Glad you could make it. Too bad, you're on your way home.

Lizzie : Uh, Ms. Collier? Emma's not here.

    Ms. Collier : What?

Lizzie : Um... she never came home last night and I didn't tell anyone because I thought, you know, she was with someone or something, but I really think that she...

Ms. Collier : Well, how do you know that she's not?

Lizzie : You know her, Ms. Collier. She wouldn't just bail. She has a schedule to keep. And I tried her cell and she's not answering.

Ms. Collier : All right. Well, uh, where did you see her last?

Lizzie : Um... on the boat...

  • Mr. Christiansen : The police have a boat searching the area where they picked up the kids. As soon as they come back in...

Barbara Robinson : When will they be back? When is that?

Mr. Christiansen : Uh, I'm not sure. They said that they would let us know when they...

    Jack McMullen : Any word?

Mr. Christiansen : I was just telling Barbara that the police have a boat searching the Caribbean right now. They did say that a dinghy was missing, so...

Phil Robinson : How long have they been looking?

Barbara Robinson : What about a helicopter?

Ms. Collier : Uh, they said as soon as the winds died down, they're gonna send someone up.

Jack McMullen : Have they been searching the land as well as the waters? Have you contacted the embassy? Is there a private team we can hire? Because money's not an issue.

Mr. Christiansen : I understand. No, the police are doing everything that they can with the limited resources that they have on the island. There is no private rescue team. But they did say they were very, very confident that they're going to find Dean and Emma. First 48 hours is the most important. But the chief of police said that, you know, kids do this.

Barbara Robinson : Oh, God! If I hear one more time that this is what kids do! Are you kidding me?

Jack McMullen : It's been almost two days. The hell are these people doing? Except offering anecdotal crap about other teenagers? Huh?

    Mr. Christiansen : I'm sorry.

Barbara Robinson : Don't be sorry. Help us find our children.

  • Mr. Christiansen : [after Lizzie said that Emma's been missing since the students were caught by the police]  She never made it back to the hotel last night?

Lizzie : No, and I thought that maybe she...

Police Officer #1 : Was she drinking?

Lizzie : What does that have to do with anything?

Mr. Christiansen : Was she with Dean?

    Lizzie : What? No.

Mr. Christiansen : But he was on the boat?

Lizzie : Yeah, but... s-she was didn't meet anyone, and she wasn't hooking up with Dean. Ms. Collier, tell them...

Ms. Collier : Can anything be done to find them?

Police Officer #1 : More than likely, and they'll find you. I mean, this type of thing isn't terribly uncommon. It's the youthful spirit of adventure.

Lizzie : No, this is my best friend we're talking about. I know her! She has no youthful spirit of adventure.
