Maybe

Warning: Spoilers
I would have rated it higher if not for the ridiculous ending. Spoilers ahead but I've no idea how I'm going to write a 600 character review!?! Any ways I think this was based on an old Thai horror movie ( if I'm not mistaken)? I use to watch them and Korean horror films all the time. This was ok and I thought it was good they didn't make it some cheesy high school flick like Toggle or what have you. Tho The ending was the stupidest ending they chose! They show very little of Toos dad and then the last minute they throw in he was a serial killer!?! If they had weaved parts of that story in with the rest than maybe it would fly but even tho Too was an A@shole they all of a sudden make him some monster? Idk bad choice of an ending!

Ending Left Too Open For Me
PalmBeachG4 July 2023
I would have rated this higher if it had a more closed ending. When I have to google it to get other's opinions on the last couple of minutes then something is missing. Unless they left it like that hoping to get another season - I was expecting another delete at the end there or something - I can see all kinds of scenarios if that were to happen. Good thriller otherwise though. Also I guess it doesn't matter bit still, I was wondering where the phone came from in the first place - who made it? I only saw a few references about June being so smart and enters in many competitions and also the sister who was missing. All in all, many teists and turns as people get deleted - whp's next and why? The phone gets really valuable to have once they realize they need it to get thier loved ones back.

Worth it for the end!
icocleric28 June 2023
I thought it was enjoyable overall. The acting was good, and the concept was an interesting one. It started off interesting, and the plot keeps you guessing. The middle of the arc was a bit messier, as there's a lot of people trying to get people deleted. I think the story slips a little there too, and gets a bit dull.

Then it picks up again, and end was amazing, it goes from suspense to horror in the final episode, and I really liked it. I would have actually love to see more of the dark tone throughout.

It wasn't something that I expected, but at the same time it doesn't come out of nowhere. There are bits and pieces that are tiny when the come up, but then you're like, oh that's why that was mentioned earlier on.

A good example of ruining a series with the ending
jacksonderby6 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The series was pretty decent overall. The acting was good, the plot was interesting, and the arrangement and length of the episodes kept you entertained. There are some cons though. Firstly, the amount of extras. In the supermarket and on the roads there is absolutely nobody- and it makes the series feel kind of eerie. The most major con, however, was the ending. Too as a character was almost completely changed compared to the previous episodes and it made absolutely no sense. There better be a season two because to end on a cliffhanger like that is absolutely horrible. I will admit, I was surprised with how much I actually enjoyed the first episodes which is why it is a 6/10.

What's wrong with the ending?
snailmaillove12 July 2023
I wasn't too interested when this popped up on my Netflix but I decided to give it a go. Once you get more into the story, things become more interesting. Actors are good the story is pretty intriguing, I can say I actually liked it and wanted to find out more. I'm not sure what I expected in the end, maybe a happy ending or some sort of explanation where this mysterious phone came from.

Anyway, you wait for it and then it comes the ending. What.. did.. just.. happen? Maybe you think you missed something during the series, possibly you fell asleep? It is absolutely non-sensical, there is no explanation at all.

Get pass the first 3 episode
korawich1 July 2023
The camera angle in many scenes are not really sensible to me. The overall story however is actually not bad. I would say that it is filled with many dilemmas. The acting is all good especially Lilly. There was a little strange choice like using Christian school as opposed to a typical school with Buddhism which would feel more Thai. This is not as good as Nanno the Girl from no where.( And I know it's not a fair comparison since that one is more like a one episode standalone) overall you will see how this delete device show the true color of many characters. The love triangle story is done quite well. You will always question yourself about who is right who is wrong.

TENSION is always maintained throughout!!
competesumukha15 July 2023
While watching this you are into world of a GAME, where you always look forward to who will delete whom after the first twist in ep1, and you always want to watch more than what is being shown also how a character can be so dumb, e.g. When lily was going to bathroom and she left that 'thing' in the bed and next scene they are in the horse yard(How can she forgot that provided the importance of it in that situation). And the actions of lily in the final ep again was questionable as she dissaproves the decision of own what she had thought of earlier. But that doesn't mean it's boring, it just explain some minor details and leaves the rest for a possible S2(Last twist makes way for it and promises to answer some questions). Pluses are it's engaging till last ep, A Portion of the back story of the 1st girl in ep1, it surely tests your conscience as who is somewhat right,Loneliness of Human Being, etc.

Let's Hope Netflix brings S2 and Writers to shed some light Some Unanswered questions. 🤞🤞

Muddled
phredator29 June 2023
The promo, the production values, and the premise all got my attention. So I sat down to give this a look. It was filmed in Thai and is dubbed roughly in English. Overall I'd say this isn't a huge drawback. But you will notice it in essentially every single scene. This sort of thing is more acceptable when you're watching Godzilla then when you're trying to watch a serious drama.

Magic Camera makes people disappear. All right I want to know more. So I watch. I watch two episodes. And suddenly it Dawn's on me that there's nothing that this premise brings to the story.

If you want someone out of your life you don't need a Magic Camera to do it, you can simply eliminate them the old fashioned way. So this is a story about people who kill people who get in their way. It's not a new story at all. To that end I'm wondering what the point is of having a magical camera.

By the way if you did have a magical camera that could murder anyone simply by snapping their picture, would you be constantly looking in the lens yourself? Would you point the camera in your direction all the time? This is after all the equivalent of a gun. Who points a gun at themselves?

In a lot of ways I found this a reimagining of an episode of Dallas. Wealthy people, backbiting, treachery deceit infidelity.

And I suppose if that's what you want to see, essentially a Hallmark version of Dallas with a bit more gore thrown in, then I suppose this will be as passible as any similar work. And that's why I gave it a 5 out of 10. It doesn't get any points for Magic Camera. It doesn't get any points for breaking new ground.

This is just another episode of another soap opera.

Nothing wrong with that but don't be expecting me to sing its praises.

Say Cheese
Pairic2 July 2023
Delete: Thai Horror/SF series about a phone camera which makes people disappear. Sounds useful but there may be complications if love triangles are involved and maybe not all disappearances are due to deletions. A bit of soap is involved with standard school bullying. Perhaps one subplot too many but the tension is maintained. The horror is more of a psychological nature as this device literally invokes existential terror for both the users and potential victims. Secrets both mundane and mondo are revealed as the narrative unfolds. This is a dark tale.

Directed and Co-Written by Parkpoom Wongpoom. Eight episodes on Netflix. 8/10.

So so
Roma731 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This isn't bad. That's to say, it kept me engaged. The acting was inspired enough too.

However. None of the characters was astute enough to see there's an easy solution to (fixing) the "delete" problem. Here it is: find one person who wants to die anyway, by suicide or euthanasia. You ask this person to delete everyone who has ever taken a picture, hence bringing back the people they've deleted. Then have someone delete this suicidal person, and the last group is back too; everyone is back. Surely the script writers should've thought of this too? No one mentions it during the series. A pretty huge pothole.

Then the ending. The series had a few twists, some of them effective and interesting, other less so. The last one made no sense to me and seemed to exist just for shock effect. It didn't shock me, just confused me.

Also, some character decisions should've been dealt with, like Aim lying to police and everyone else about his unreported missing girlfriend's whereabouts, telling them different things and making stuff up at the blink of an eye as he goes along. Not very credible.

Not a bad series but I've detracted some stars because of the above.

Delete From Your Watchlist
wildernessbarbie3 July 2023
This series is basically a soap opera. Love triangles, back stabbing, lies, bullies, manipulating narcissists galore. Ot is NOT anything remotely sci-fi or horror... except for kind of a few minutes towards the end... sort of?

Oh, & there's a camera that appears from nowhere that makes people disappear to nowhere. There is not a single line from any of the characters wondering why, where it came from, where people go, how it works, or really any curiosity of any kind about this completely bizarre & impossible device. Only ways they can use it for their own selfish & sociopathic needs.

It's an incredibly shallow storyline that refuses to explore or even briefly indulge in exploration of the stranger aspects of the consequences of using it. One guy tells a whole bunch of easily disproven lies about a woman's whereabouts... NBD apparently? A whole bunch of people who disappeared from a secure facility suddenly reappear & not one direct mention of it?

At the center is someone who is having an affair, & someone else that's obviously abusive, & we're supposed to like them? I think?

Not one person is really likable in this whole show. The last episode has a big "WTF?!!?" that they *sort of* hinted at, but really just seems like a desperate ploy to force a second season that I will NOT be watching.

Suspense that twists into thriller toward the end
kimberly_gibson10 July 2023
I was riveted from the first episode and had no idea the plot would be this twisty. Feels just like a black mirror episode drawn out and full of surprises that feel tragically inevitable. There are just a few tiny continuity flaws, but I was floored how much the suspense hooked me. I love seeing scenes replayed from other characters' perspectives. These angles show flaws and virtues of every character, making for complex writing. It's another fantastic telling of Crime and Punishment, just that every character is a criminal. I watched with the original Thai and subtitles to preserve the actors' performances.

Netflix's greatest craptacular of all time. Why?
kmhlbeavis9 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Once again Netflix makes an original series and once again they screw it up big time. Why don't they just buy the rights to programs that are already completed. Getting to this you have 5 Main characters and 4 side characters. The main ones are Too, Lily, June, Aim and Orn. The side ones are Claire, His mom the nurse and father the police officer and June's friend. So Claire uses the camera phone to delete the sick people of the hospital. First problem with this , how did she acquire the phone? Where did this phone came from? Then the mother witnesses her daughter deleting someone and her and her husband keep it a secret which brings me to problem no. 2 why didn't they take the phone away from her and destroy it, make sense? . The girl then goes to the supermarket and asks lily to take a picture of her with the phone and then she disappears. So know lily has this phone. Enter Orn she's Aims girlfriend and she catches him doing the nasty on her hidden camera that she has in the living room. He didn't want to delete her but she told him that she will give him a chance and he tells her it's over and she says okay you made your choice so then aim deletes her. June posses it and then you can figure out what happens and then too posses it at the end and he deletes all of the cadavers that his father must have murdered and stored in the secret room beneath the barn. That wasn't explained either how the father killed all those young girls and the motive. At the end you see too going to where lily was hiding and all you see is a flash of light. So I guess he deleted her again. So the loose ends are the ending, where did claire go since she managed to escape while her dad and mom were deleted. What is the origin of the camera. What is the story behind the father keeping all those skeletons down there. Do we need a second season? Absolutely not. This can be wrapped up in 5 episodes and no more than that.

Delete: A Series That Should Be Erased from Memory
ergo-5853415 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Delete is a series that tries to explore the dark side of the human mind and the consequences of playing God with technology. The premise of the series is intriguing and provocative, but the execution is disappointing and shallow. The series suffers from poor writing, inconsistent pacing, unrealistic characters and illogical plot twists. The series also fails to develop any meaningful themes or messages, and instead relies on cheap shocks and clichés. The series wastes the potential of its talented cast, who are given little to work with in terms of character development or emotional depth. The series also has a low production value, with mediocre cinematography, editing and sound design. Delete is a series that could have been a thrilling and thought-provoking drama, but instead ends up being a dull and forgettable mess.

Such a pleasant surprise.
lornabravo6 October 2023
So addictive. Great series. Season 2 has to come soon please!!!! I'm hanging on a thread. I had no idea what to expect when I started watching. The twists were so well placed. So many surprises. Definitely a must see. Great acting and writing. More please!!!! I love foreign content. I'm in Canada and tired of the North American genré. Really fresh storyline. I'm really trying to not give any spoilers, but you'll be hooked. I binged it way too fast.

The suspense at the end was so great but then it's done. I need to know what happens. !!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't see anything about another season. My fingers are crossed.

So many great twists and turns!
oliviantoob30 June 2023
And the story evolves like acatfeeder, excuse the lack of fantasy for the likening .

I mean : the right amount of Yummy, the right time, fabolous feeding (us) and giving a fantastic meal, and really surprisingly, i liked the taste, no bad aftertaste, and , like a hungry cat, i want more !

I am ready for netflix to make atleast the seacond season of tvshow Delete.

But with this build up of a story, it could also go on forever w new stories ( after getting a good continuing of Lily and them all) the story itself is about the phone and whos hand it may land in, it can continue , like a spiderweb /net . There can be SO MANY plots and twists and jucyness. Not only scary ones, and there could be crossovers like from the old stories and it could be so long, before we get to know where the phone comes from or some reason the show would Have To end. I cannot se a obvious Stop to this. ( if we are LYCKY - i would say)

And that is whats loveable. Like the ending chocked pleny of us, like every character was connected to eachother in a mysterious way.

That is loveable tv right there !

I need like 10 seasons . Love it.

Incredible Suspense and Unpredictable Twists
AveryMorose7 March 2024
This is hands-down one of the best (if not the best) suspense shows I have ever seen. I've never seen anything else (in TV or film) that manages to maintain tension so completely throughout the entire thing - I don't think I remembered to breathe until halfway through the series! Delete is genuinely original and has twists and turns that are impossible to predict. Every time you think you've got a character figured out, something throws your theory out the window. The imperfections and flaws of every single character are used to maximum effect, making it impossible to sort people and their motivations into basic "good" and "bad" categories, keeping the tension high and the audience guessing. While I expect this will be another of Netflix's many 1-season wonders, I would happily watch another 50 episodes. Just fantastic.
