Two different personalities battle for dominance inside the mind of a disturbed woman. But how can one personality be entitled to everything when they both have their own lives? Writer/director Chris R. Notarile presents an extremely stark, gripping, and darkly atmospheric depiction of split personality disorder that manages to be truly harrowing without seeming too sappy or luridly dramatized. Moreover, Notarile uses smoke and sharp lighting with strikingly stylish results. The dank, wet, and claustrophobic basement setting likewise works exceptionally well as a strong visual metaphor for the protagonist's troubled psyche. But it's Suzi Lorraine's bravura acting that really keeps this short humming; she does a remarkably convincing job of portraying two radically contrasting personalities -- one meek and frightened, the other more fearsome and aggressive -- fighting for supremacy over a single body. The final line is genuinely chilling. Recommended viewing.
