Is your wardrobe basic? Before you say no with an attitude, it should be. Fall and winter are all about layers, making T-shirts necessary. The most glamorous superstars like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian rely on basic tops. Why? Because every outfit has a star and supporting characters. White T-shirts and black tank tops are arguably the best supporting characters you can buy (although they may be tied to denim). They go with everything. While the items are basic, purchasing the perfect tee isn't easy. The fabric, fit, sleeve length, neckline and rise matters when you're putting together an fall ensemble. To be safe, it's better to have one of everything. For one, they'll never go out of...

Summer blockbuster season might be over, but there are no shortage of exciting new movies to look out for in the coming months. New properties from Marvel, DC, and Star Wars are only a very few of the films being released over the next six months, and we couldn’t be more excited.
There are also new releases from Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water) and Ava DuVernay (A Wrinkle in Time) to look forward to, with so much more coming down the pipe over the next few months. The holiday and awards seasons always usher in the release of great movies, but we think this year has got to be one of the best.

I don't think I've ever posted anything on GeekTyrant involving the Italian fashion line Gucci. However, I saw this promo from their upcoming line of Star Trek-inspired fashion and I had to share it. The promo has a very cool retro vibe as it was made to look and feel like the classic sci-fi entertainment from the 1950s and 1960s, including Star Trek, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Lost in Space, and The Valley of Gwangi, and it even has Ray Harryhausen-like stop-motion dinosaur effects. This is for their 2017 Fall and Winter fashion campaign. ...

WikiLeaks founder to judge films at the 21st Raindance Film Festival; 2013 line-up unveiled.Scroll down for full line-up of films
Julian Assange has joined the jury of the 21st Raindance Film Festival (Sept 25 - Oct 6), a London-based event that celebrates independent film in the UK and around the world.
The appointment is a controversial one. The Australian editor-in-chief and founder of WikiLeaks took refuge in the Ecuadorean embassy in London in June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning about sexual assault allegations.
It is understood that he fears Sweden would extradite him to the Us, where he believes he is wanted in relation to WikiLeaks’ disclosure of a significant amount of classified Us military and diplomatic documents.
Commenting on Assange’s appointment, Raindance founder Elliot Grove said: “Every year Raindance invites interesting people to join our jury. In the past we have had musicians like Mick Jones, Marky Ramone and [link...

In 2008, Canadian filmmaker Matt Anderson decided to abandon his production company in order to investigate the global catastrophic risks facing the human race -- a journey he captures in his film "Fall and Winter." Anderson told Indiewire that when he was 6, his family moved to a small island with no roads and no stores where they used solar panels for electricity and drank rainwater. At 19, Anderson moved to New York City to work in motion graphic design, and ended up DJ'ing so "I could drink at bars." After working at a number of graphic and web design studios, he started his own video production company called Obelisk. This is the start of his journey which he beautifully captures in compelling visuals. Ironically, he says, it led him to wanting to live in a way that he did when he was 6. What it's about: 'Fall And Winter' is a...
