Hey 'Teach'
studioAT5 August 2023
The writer really seem to have thrown the character of Priya under the bus, making her a pain in the school environment and not much fun at all.

She was better in the last episode where she was pitched against Paul Robinson in a business/flirty fashion, but here it's difficult to root for her at all.

When the character of Michael comes across as the more interesting character in a scene, you know you're doomed. Throw in Amelia with her constant use of 'Teach' and it's difficult to know who came out of that storyline well. The apple maybe...

The Sophie/Andrew/Summer storyline continues to plod on, and in some ways feels like a rehash of elements covered. There was a bit of advancement, but if they're waiting for a big reveal I wish they'd get to it.

Thanks as ever to Amazon for making these episodes available.

Warning: Spoilers
Michael goes back to work as a teacher and finds his methods clashing with the more formal style adopted by Priya. It's a nice reversal of his own habit of throwing trendy ideas at people and at the moment it's hard to see anything wrong with Priya's approach. The continuity issue of how Sophie knows Rani is nicely addressed and there's some nice tension building between her and Callum.

Meanwhile, Sophie decides to break up with Corey in just about the worst way possible, leaving him humiliated and dropping Andrew in it. This results in a clash between Summer and Andrew, where Summer might have a point but comes across as so sanctimonious it's hard to find.
