Johnny Vaughan has played down any suggestion of a rift between him and Denise Van Outen, arguing that she must be "taking the piss" with recent comments she made about him in the press.
Vaughan's former Big Breakfast co-host has said in a couple of recent interviews that she felt "very uncomfortable" when she was reunited with him on his Capital FM breakfast show.
Van Outen also accused Vaughan of turning the volume down on her microphone when she was trying to talk. "He wouldn't let me speak, would tell me when I should and shouldn't speak, and would also constantly not mention that we were joint presenters," she said.
However, Vaughan has dismissed the comments, claiming that he doesn't even have the technical know-how to fade down a microphone.
"It must be humour. There is this quote from her that I used to fade her down. She must be taking the piss,...

Johnny Vaughan and Steve Brooker return to History this week with a third series of cult documentary series Mud Men. It's back. And it's even muddier.
Digital Spy caught up with Vaughany to chat about the show's surprise success, Big Breakfast nostalgia and those reports of a fall-out with Denise Van Outen.
You've got a third series of Mud Men. You must be delighted.
"It's the most successful British show on History, which is quite cool. It's two geezers farting around and I thought we were really lucky to get one series.
"It's often the case if it's fun for everyone involved that they're only the people having fun. People are sat at home thinking, 'I'm glad they're having a good time. I think it's a load of s**t'. It really rubs it in.
"There's nothing worse than people really enjoying doing a load of s**t."
Holiday shows are the worst for that.

Stars of the small screen talk TV
The total package: Zawe Ashton
I'm a massive disappointment," says Zawe Ashton, star of C4's Fresh Meat. Ashton's wayward, partying character Violet, better known as Vod, won the hearts of viewers in the first series – so much so that when Ashton meets people at parties they expect her to be the last one standing. "It's a compliment that people think I'm going to be like her – it means I'm doing my job properly. But I can see the disappointment in people's eyes when I switch to fizzy water before heading for the door at a decent hour!"
Ashton's star has been on the ascent for a couple of years now. She's appeared on stage as well as screen, and she's also honing her skills as a writer, including a stint as writer-in-residence for production company Clean Break. Having just finished her run...
