Credit is due; I present it to you

The season-opening two-parter compelled me to express concern about an unwelcome subplot, and the hope that the series would resume placing its primary focus on the sleuthing, and continue sprinkling celebrities of yore into the season's mix.

Wish granted. Viewer grateful.

The Brackenreid and Kipling badinage was a delight. Same for George's interactions with his authors. All those plot threads included amusing and gratifying callbacks to events from previous seasons. And the detecting needed to figure out why the gent left on the floor had been so suddenly removed from the ranks of the breathing was well-crafted, with a couple of nice twists. Thank you.

As I'm doing this, there are only two other reviews on this page; both are all about the authors presented IN the tale. I thought the writers OF this week's mystery earned some ink, as well.

The Character of Author Lucy Maud Montgomery
amorehl22 January 2023
At this point in time, there is only one review on this episode and it details some of the authors portrayed in the episode. However, it leaves off probably the most significant one for Canadians, as well as her many other fans worldwide who love the unforgettable characters she created: Lucy Maud Montgomery, OBE (11/30/1874 - 4/24/1942) of Prince Edward Island. As stated in The Canadian Encyclopedia: "Montgomery is arguably Canada's most widely read author. Her first novel, Anne of Green Gables (1908), became an instant best-seller. It has remained in print for more than a century, making the character of Anne Shirley a mythic icon of Canadian culture. Montgomery produced more than 500 short stories, 21 novels, two poetry collections, and numerous journal and essay anthologies. Her body of work has sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide. Anne of Green Gables alone has been translated into at least 36 languages as well as braille. It has been adapted dozens of times in various mediums."

If you've never done so, I highly recommend you check out Anne of Green Gables at your local library. You will fall in love with Anne, and her uplifting story HAS to be more worthwhile than watching MM current episodes! You will probably then want to read the several sequels to Anne's story. If you're not a book reader, I highly recommend watching the 1985 TV Mini Series starring Megan Follows. It, too, was so successful that sequels were done and, again, is a vastly more rewarding and enriching experience than watching current, generally disappointing episodes of MM.
