- "Captain" Werner Träsch is quite astonished: the fresh wind of social change is also blowing among the tradition-conscious Berlin garbage workers. His boss Dorn finally wants to increase the number of women and hires the self-confident Pamela on a trial basis. The former competitive athlete not only packs a punch, but is also unimpressed by the rough tone. The garbage workers may appear rather insensitive to the outside world at times, but they have a keen eye on everyday life and the people in their neighborhood. So Werner is surprised about changes in the single neighbor of his paternal friend Kowalski: Helga Engler withdraws more and more after the death of her husband and even distrusts the garbage workers. When Werner realizes the influence that everyday helper Marlies Berger has on the frightened elderly woman, the alarm bells start ringing. In fact, the wily swindler is trying to get hold of the widow's property. However, there is little time to prevent Helga from having to vacate her own apartment in the end.—ADR Das Erste
