Zoo - 406

Warning: Spoilers
Not many shows could have an episode about a 1 and 1/2 birthday party and make it seem like something these characters would do and yet this was that.

This had all of the signature elements of Servant from the snappy lines by the cast to the awkward moments that you cannot help but laugh at and then all the way down to the crazy moments.

Two fights going on while Lipps Inc's "Funkytown" played is completely in the wheelhouse of this show and not insanely mad. Another crazy Leanne moment as we saw her powers come into play yet again as she was able to overpower the nurse while being tied up. How will they ever stop her?

Best Episode So Far
chocolatepopcorn18 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a big fan of M Night Shyamalan so that has been the main reason I've been watching this show (even through some of its arguably lazy writing), but the show has been a slow burn nonetheless that I keep coming back to and seeks to entertain. This is the best episode so far simply because everything that makes the show and advances the show is in place- the dialogue, wacky/black humor and horror. Two brothers fight & make up, Leanne's powers seem to only get stronger and we learn more about the housekeeper than we did before... Not to mention the eery and horrific ending and lead up. It could be safe to say that Dorothy's physical health isn't the only thing that has been declining at this point and that is sad to see. Overall I'm not sure what to expect at this point but ultimately I think that is M Night's goal with most of his works, maybe we'll see a twist of some sort. I'm looking forward to it but gonna need a mental break for a bit from the next episode because of this one lmao.

"Funky town"

One of the best episodes of Servant! I watched and reviewed Thursday night but it didn't go through. The action, intensity, and great dialogue between the brothers as always Rupert Grint is awesome and so is Nell Tiger Free! You can tell for the final season the thrill has accelerated. I wonder how much involvement M. Night has with the series cause the horror seems to be from him and the directors. I love the way they left things with Lauren Ambroses character towards the last few minutes you get a sense that something is gonna happen in the last few episodes. No matter what I love Servant and the surroundings of everything.

A Mediocre episode that at least Progressed the Story
onikage-4932419 February 2023
No Spoilers.

I'll start with the good. The episode does actually have character progression that makes sense. People finally have conversations that actually matter and overall the episode is *Somewhat* Good. Sean and Julian are a cool part of the episode (and shows Rupert Grint is still doing most of the carrying for this show). However, Dorothy "figures out" something about Leeane because someone made a single statement to her. Like Seanne in the Halloween episode, these characters usually can't figure out things for themselves and someone has to point out the obvious for them to have a "revelation".

Like the description says, the Cult makes a "Bold Move" but here's something I don't think the writers seem to understand: Hurting people in Self Defense doesn't make you a monster, especially if you're outnumbered or trapped. Her getting satisfaction from revenge is the only happiness she can feel BECAUSE of how badly everyone else has treated her. The writers are probably hoping we'll forget that Dorothy tried to kill her and that she was dragged back into the situation against her will.

There's a really stupid twist with the Cult that is completely ridiculous and proves Leeane's paranoia isn't misplaced.

Sadly they're still doing half-finished conversations with interruptions (to extend the runtime) and overdone Tropes. This week it's "Animals sense evil and get hostile" like we've seen so many times already.

The servant and the cult
AvionPrince1617 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So we witness a party for Jericho; Leanne still get attacked by the cult members and get away once again. Dorothy and Sean want to make Leanne go. But the real revelation of this episode its that one of the servant that they freshly hired was a member of the cult. Pretty unexpected but feel really convenient; i mean the writing feel like pretty lazy and this episode bring nothing new and interesting except that Leanne seem to have strange powers in her. Thats all. And we have of course Sean and Julian who make a lesson of psychology who lead nowhere except to a meaningless fight who lead to save Leanne. Episode after episode we can feel that the Servant have nothing to tell and really dont make any surprises, mysteries and even the story get stucked by this cult members and how Sean and Dorothy want to make Leanne get out of the house. But except that; we need to be honest: what left of that Show? Pretty nothing. We have also at the end the same scene that we saw in other season: Dorothy see that Tape where she sees Leanne who was a guest in a beauty contest but the last time it was a huge revelation and meant something(Leanne knew Dorothy in the past) but here its pretty meaningless. A huge disappointment for me.
