Could do better

A touching episode reading Dave and Twiglet.

I do like Mark Addy. He plays average so well while Lesley Sharp just plays Lesley Sharp but I did enjoy Scott & Bailey and that thing in which she played a psychic. Surprisingly, a second series of Before We Die is about to return despite the awful rip off of the fantastic Swedish series.

It is good that we see other characters here because the film was basically the Robert Carlyle show but obviously things had to be expanded for a series.

Surprisingly, it seems Chelsea the dog's role has lasted less time than that of Guy so I guess Chelsea must have been romping around her caravan off screen too. A shame as she was thd scene stealer.

Only two episodes in and it just seems to be plodding along.

The writers need to up their game even if thd story about bullying offered a strong message.

Supply Chain Economics

In the second episode of Waterloo Road. Sorry The Full Monty, the series.

Dave (Mark Addy) befriends Dean 'Twiglet' Blakefield. He is gobby, small for his size, got ADHD, is relentlessly bullied, his mother is ill, has to use a food bank and also tried to top himself. I'm surprised his nickname not Lucky.

Of course it might look a bit icky that the school caretaker takes an interest in a little lad. Especially one where the caretaker is married to the headmistress.

She has her own problems, a flooded bathroom, leaky ceilings, firing the music teacher and having an affair with the deputy head. The latter was not a surprise.

The strange thing is. It is called the Full Monty, the original team are not even close knit friends of 25 years. In the cafe they are socially distanced. Whereas Dave and Gaz are distant.
