Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Manga Goes on Yet Another Hiatus - Main Image
The anime’s ending saddened many Frieren fans, and now, even the manga will not get new chapters soon. That’s because the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga has entered yet another hiatus.
This latest break for Frieren was announced in the latest Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine issue where chapter 130 of the manga was released.
Sadly, the hiatus may be a longer one than fans expected. While week-long breaks are common for manga that are serialized weekly, the latest Frieren hiatus is indefinite with no specific return date.

Multiple outlets recently reported that the ‘Princess of Pop’ and her rumored boyfriend Paul Soliz got into an argument at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, but Spears took to her social media platform to clarify the matter.
Moreover, Spears’ alleged fight with her on-and-off boyfriend is likely fueling new rumors that the singer, 42, is going through yet another serious mental health crisis.

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was a strange time for the franchise. The post-"Avengers: Endgame" era saw Kevin Feige and co. trying to shepherd the concept of the multiverse into our collective consciousness while simultaneously introducing a host of new heroes and somewhat reinventing the MCU for a new generation. Much of it worked well, with "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" holding things down on the cinematic front. Meanwhile, "WandaVision" and "Hawkeye" made a good case for the McU's streaming age being a good development — a case that was later ruined by the poorly-reviewed "Secret Invasion."
But for every good entry in Phase 4, there was a "Thor: Love and Thunder" or a "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" to undermine them. Thankfully, Phase 4 will always remain beloved for introducing us to one of the best arguments for the MCU expanding into the world of streaming television: "Loki.

The success of Amazon’s Fallout series has inspired thousands of people to either replay their favorite Fallout game or play the series for the first time. Naturally, many of those people will likely turn to Fallout 4: the latest non-multiplayer entry in the Fallout series and the game that feels closest to the show in many respects.
While Fallout 4 is a good game, it often falls short of providing the definitive Fallout experience you may be looking for. It’s a game that launched with quite a few problems that even recent updates haven’t addressed. Thankfully, there is a plethora of user-created mods out there that directly address many of those problems.
Before we dive into those, though, keep in mind that modding a game can be a tricky thing even in the best of times. It’s best to do a little research into the basics of...

The Marvel Comics fandom often questions it as to who is the more powerful superhero team in the Marvel Universe, The Avengers, or The X-Men. While their popularity and influence in the world of comic books might be neck-to-neck, fans argue that the powers they collectively possess are anything but equal.

In the trailer for Prime Video’s “The Idea of You,” Anne Hathaway portrays a 40-year-old single mom who gets to live out a teenage girl’s dream: embarking on a whirlwind romance with the 24-year-old lead singer of the world’s hottest boy band, played by Nicholas Galitzine. The R-rated film will stream globally on Prime Video starting May 2.
After the couple meet backstage at Coachella, they kindle a steamy relationship. As Hayes (Galitzine) plays Solène (Hathaway) a song on the piano, he grips her thigh. “I’m too old for you,” she insists, before he pulls her in for a kiss: “No you’re not.”
The couple is seen navigating paparazzi while embarking on romantic outings, causing Hathaway’s character to ask, “What about what people will say?” — to which Galitzine responds, “I don’t care what they say.” The trailer features the debut single from the film’s soundtrack,...

Good news: Death is not the end of love any more than love is the end of death. On the contrary, you might find that losing someone can help you to find them in places you never thought to look when they were alive; distance can allow for clarity, and that clarity can allow for a new kind of closeness.
Bad news: That process is fraught with unanswerable questions, and we’re thinking up weird new ones to ask every day. Once upon a time you could leave it at: “How are you supposed to achieve closure when death opens so many doors to potential discovery?” Now, with the endless amount of digital artifacts we all carry in our pockets and the nascent promise that A.I. might be able to preserve someone’s consciousness for centuries to come, technology has compelled us to consider the practical applications of thought...

The Face of Another: Schimberg Scrutinizes the Pratfalls of Face Value
Those familiar with his 2018 sophomore film Chained for Life will likely notate director Aaron Schimberg’s fascination with circuitous identity crises in A Different Man. The title is but one of many ironic instances in this lightly sardonic tale about a fantastical transformation, which ultimately reveals the meaninglessness of perceived beauty—at least, only when it’s skin deep. Reuniting with his muse Adam Pearson, whose neurofibromatosis is a condition the aspect of which again informs this highly specified and nightmarishly layered plot about an actor who transforms from an ugly duckling into a swan.…...

There is a reason why avid anime fans are offended when non-anime watchers refer to anime as ‘cartoons.’ Cartoons are wholesome, child-appropriate animated sequences that invoke a feeling of joy and fun in people. They’re bright and dreamy and are generally what kids, and even adults, watch to wind down and forget the weighted realities of the world. They’re definitely not something that would give people existential crises and nightmares.
On the other hand, anime is famous for catering to a more adult demographic. And sure, there are numerous anime out there that are more kid-friendly and bright and are considered far from scary. Think “Pokemon” and “Doremon.” But many horror anime, like the famous “Junji Ito Collection” and “Hellsing,” are so spine-chilling and horrific that even adults shy away from them.

Another Autumn, another superhero movie for the disciples of the MCU to feast on – and this time it comes in the form of The Marvels, directed by Nia DaCosta. We loved the film – read our glowing review here.
To mark the film’s release, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the indie filmmaker, who has been given the keys to the kingdom, in what is comfortably the largest movie of her career to date, and she does a good job in capturing the endearing tonality of the franchise, while giving fans much to be entertained by. She talks to us about the film’s modest run-time (the shortest yet in the MCU), while also speaking about the directing the three leads: Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris & Iman Vellani.
She also speaks about the frenetic energy and challenges that derive from shooting the ambitious action sequences, as well as talking about representation within the MCU.

In too many thrillers to count, the key scene, and the most suspenseful one, arrives when the hero or heroine, investigating a chemical spill or a murder or what have you, sits down at the computer and deep dives into a web search, the information-age detective work culminating in that inevitable “Aha!” moment of discovery. So here’s where the darkness leads.
There’s a sequence like that in “Another Body,” a groundbreaking, creepy, fascinating, and important documentary about a phenomenon that’s only going to grow in significance: the deepfaking of pornography. That means: the lifting of images of real people off the web, whose faces are then digitally grafted onto pornographic footage to create a fraudulent porn file that looks as real as reality. Boogie nights? Try steal-your-body-and-soul nights.
In “Another Body,” the central figure is Taylor Klein, a 22-year-old graduate student in engineering who this happened to.

Kurt Vile has announced a new EP called Back to Moon Beach, out November 17th via Verve. Along with its lead single “Another good year for the roses,” the singer-songwriter has also mapped out a run of North American tour dates for 2024.
Though Back to Moon Beach is an EP by name, it would be a proper LP for most other artists, clocking in at nearly an hour long and nine tracks. In a press release, Vile himself says it’s more like a “Kv comp,” adding: “The first 6 tracks — which are the ones that fit on a single LP — are new to the world, with one foot in the not-too-distant past and the other with one tiny toe pointing toward the future. Together my feet are like a couple spanning time together.”

While most contestants on “The Bachelor” franchise dread the all-night filming that comes with Night 1 introductions at the “Bachelor” mansion, “The Golden Bachelor” Gerry Turner was energized enough to keep the party going, even after 10 hours.

Rosemarie DeWitt only appeared briefly in And Just Like That…, but the build-up to her character’s big reveal has been decades in the making. DeWitt took on the role of Aidan Shaw’s ex-wife, Kathy. With the exception of genre masters like Junji Ito, anime and manga aren’t exactly the most horror-friendly mediums out there. However, from the Cenobite-inspired God Hand of Berserk to the near-Lovecraftian archeology of Made in Abyss, there’s no denying that Japanese artists often manage to sneak in some unexpected scares into their work.
And with decades of Japanese animation to choose from, there are bound to be at least a few oddball productions likely to satisfy audiences with a craving for animated frights. With that in mind, we’ve decided to come up with a list highlighting six of the best anime for horror fans, as not all nightmares have to be in live-action!
While this list is obviously based on personal opinion, we’ll only be considering Japanese productions as proper “anime,” which means no Western animations like Netflix’s Castlevania! With that out of the way,...

What do writers do when they can’t write? It’s an exasperating question, since some write anyway – even in risky ways.
The risky activities of one strike-bound writer deserve note because he’s a “ghost” who is breaking a prime rule of his “ghosting” fraternity: He’s openly talking about the secrets of his trade.
Ghostwriting can be both rewarding and punishing. Ghosted books are not specifically outlawed by guilds during times of discord, but ghosts know that much of what they write has another problem: It is factually false. Or at least distorted.
All this is colorfully acknowledged by J.R. Moehringer, who is a serial ghost. His newest effort, Spare, about Prince Harry — it was written before the writers strike — adorns the bestseller list amid passionately challenging reviews.
Far from hiding from the controversy, Moehringer has written an article for The New Yorker describing his fights with his...

Another Real Housewives of Atlanta star is calling it quits on her marriage. Just months after Cynthia Bailey announced her divorce from Mike Hill, and weeks after Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman filed for divorce, Eva Marcille has filed paperwork to end her marriage to former Atlanta mayoral candidate, Michael Sterling. The following article contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Star Trek: Picard."
Everyone loves a good villain, and "Star Trek" villains can be especially fun to hate. From John de Lancie's Q to Louise Fletcher's Kai Winn, the franchise has had some seriously fun baddies, but they're rarely part of Starfleet. Sure, you get your occasional rogue admiral who engages in some evil plan, but you don't often get real nastiness or arguing between Starfleet officers, especially not with Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) around. He's not the kind of Starfleet icon who solves his problems with yelling, but in the latest episode of "Star Trek: Picard," he bears the brunt of one seriously angry tirade courtesy of the Captain of the U.S.S. Titan, Captain Shaw. Shaw, played by Todd Stashwick, is a gruff and grumpy captain who wants nothing to do with the ridiculous adventures...

A cornerstone of the "Scream" franchise is comedy. The film's exaggerated and nearly silly kills, at times, are part of what make the films so much fun. That said, there's always been a serious undertone to the narrative, as what's going on in them isn't exactly happy-go-lucky. In "Scream 6," Ghostface himself is going to take on much more of a hardened killer persona than they have in the past.
In a recent interview with SFX Magazine (via DigitalSpy), the film's co-director Tyler Gillet told the publication:
"There are a tonne of fun, wonderful, classic Ghostface moments, but it's not the pratfalling Ghostface. We love that, but for this to be scary and to achieve a level of visceral tension, we wanted to put the character more in the real world. If Ghostface is trying to get through a door, it's going to happen! There's no giving up. When he's in pursuit,...

Even the greatest filmmakers end up fumbling once or twice. That's simply human nature shining through — nobody is perfect, and thus, no director has a perfect filmography. They may not produce any movies you hate, necessarily, but even your favorite director has movies you think are of lesser quality than others. Take, for instance, legendary auteur Akira Kurosawa, who is often credited as one of the defining directors of cinema.
However, not even he could say that his filmography was flawless. That's because in 1951, he released "The Idiot," an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Fyodor Dostoevsky. In an interview compiled in the book, "Akira Kurosawa: Interviews," he described the making of that movie as troublesome, which isn't a surprise given how it was cut down from a whopping 265 minutes to 100 minutes. Regardless, it sounded like he had a rough go of it with the producers at Shochiku,...

Does this ever happen to you? You're going on about your day, minding your own business, when it suddenly hits you — the sound of a V8 engine roaring, of a flaming electric guitar, and a young man screaming "witness me!" and you start thinking about how lucky we are to live in a world where "Mad Max: Fury Road" came out? All movies are a miracle, but "Fury Road" feels almost like the result of divine intervention.
What makes "Fury Road" incredible is that George Miller's masterpiece was not just one of the best movies of the 21st century, and not only was it a critical success, but it made a lot of money and even went on to win several Academy Awards.
So it makes sense that Miller, who has one of the most diverse filmographies out there, would return to make another "Mad Max" movie with "Furiosa.

Dynamic mother-daughter and best friend duo Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey) return in “Ginny & Georgia” Season 2, which gets even more chaotic than the already very complex first season of the Netflix show. Another of Georgia’s past loves enters the mix, she commits some more questionable actions and many other twists and turns develop within the 10 hour-long episodes.
Ginny and her friends are no strangers to the TikTok scene, so some song choices reflect Gen Z’s poppy preferences. The show is also not afraid to explore both the high, happy feelings of life as well as the deeper, darker, lower ones, and it does so sonically with some beautiful choices. Felix Mallard chose a song for an important scene of his, and actress Brianne Howey easily chose a song to embody her character Georgia.

When you think of Hollywood’s great on-screen comedy duos, some obvious choices come to mind, like Abbott & Costello or Laurel & Hardy. But for film fans who grew up in the ’70s and ’80s, there was another duo that was just as potent: Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. With impeccable comic timing and the kind of chemistry that can only happen naturally, Wilder and Pryor were always fun to watch, even when they were working with subpar material. Of course, when they were working with a great script — like they did with Silver Streak — the result was one of the all-time classic comedies, one which made the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 funniest films ever made. Before his death, Wilder talked to us about his collaborations with Pryor and the magic that resulted when they worked together. (Click on the media bar below to hear Richard Pryor) https://www.

When you watch enough movies and shows, you start to pick up on certain little recurring trends. Chief among them has to be the instinct to create new adaptations of classic, pulpy characters ... but with a dark, brooding, and adult-only sheen layered on top. After all, how else would you know to put the "prestige" in prestige television?
Well, as eye-rolling and clichéd as this tendency may be, I'm here to admit that I'm a complete and total hypocrite, because I happily ate that up and asked for more when HBO gave the same exact treatment to the classic character of Perry Mason. Initially a 1957 legal drama on CBS, with the eponymous private investigator played by Raymond Burr and based on the books and short stories written by author Erle Stanley Gardner, creators Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald saw fit to make a new "Perry Mason" adaptation -- this time,...

Much has been made in the past six months about the turmoil — whether real or imagined — on the set of director Olivia Wilde’s buzzy Don’t Worry Darling. There was the scuttlebutt around her relationship with co-star Harry Styles. There was the departure of original lead Shia Labeouf. And then there were rumors of friction between the director-actress and the film’s star, Florence Pugh. Those included a Vulture report about on-set “screaming match” between the two women, which was quickly denied in a statement signed by 40 members of the film’s crew and production team.
Wilde told Elle in an interview for the cover of the magazine this month that the media feeding frenzy has “brought my attention to the media and how it pits women against one another.”
The director continued, “It is shocking to see so many untruths about yourself traded as fact. Florence had a really...

Ana de Armas paid her respects to Marilyn Monroe more than once while appearing as the Hollywood icon in Blonde.
The 34-year-old Cuban-Spanish actor stars in the new Netflix movie based on Joyce Carol Oates’ novel of the same name.
In a new interview with Variety, de Armas said that she struggled to move on from the role after filming wrapped.
“I couldn’t say goodbye,” she said. “I couldn’t shake it off. I couldn’t let her go. I went to visit her at her cemetery a few times – I would have liked to go one more time.”
Monroe is buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles. It is also the final resting place of many other stars, including the authors Truman Capote and Jackie Collins, actors Jack Lemmon, Burt Lancaster and Natalie Wood, as well as singers Roy Orbison, Minnie Riperton and Dean Martin.

The Face of Another: Lemercier Normalizes Weird Choices in Bizarre Biopic
Like something novel born out of a 30 Rock satire, French actor/director Valérie Lemercier delivers the confounding Aline, a fictional account of a life inspired by internationally acclaimed chanteuse, Celine Dion. Kudos to Lemercier, who stars as the titular Quebecois wunderkind from the age of a small child to her Las Vegas residency, managing, against the odds, to create a piece of fan fiction which dares to lean into banality.
Once one gets beyond some odd moments which could have veered into either unmitigated camp territory or the essence of nightmares, Lemercier settles into a sobering account of an incredibly talented young woman who is groomed from childhood to be a singing sensation, only quietly emerging with a sense of self after the death of her (much older) husband/manager.…...

Brian Williams devoted the closing segment of The 11th Hour to the news of his departure from NBC News and MSNBC.
He suggested that the show will continue — just without him.
“I ask all those of you who are a part of our loyal viewing audience to remain loyal,” Williams said on the show. “The 11th Hour will remain in good hands produced by the best team in cable news.”
Williams has not said what his next move will be, but announced earlier on Tuesday evening that he would leave the network after his contract ends in December.
He complete comments from the show below:
“Before we go tonight, as the old song says, ‘We got a thing going on.’ Think about it. We’ve been meeting this way at this same time, this same place for an awful long while, five years give or take. Next year is my 40th year in the business.
