I have to say that this show wasn't the first time that comedy being judged like you get on The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, I had seen a one off special feature in a Jimmy Carr DVD called Comedy Idol, but I am glad we got a full series with this. Presented by Jason Manford, this reality style documentary and comedy series sees ten stand up comedians from varying backgrounds, e.g. pubs, clubs, holiday parks, competing to win the chance to perform a nationwide tour of their own material around the UK, and their own DVD show that would be released after. The competitors each episode would do a five minute routine in front of different crowds, such as people in Liverpool, army military personnel, hospital staff, secondary school teachers, locals in a pub, rugby players, people in Blackpool, and the final live at Hammersmith Apollo. Comedians that appeared in the show included Ellie Taylor, Tiffany Stevenson, Dan Mitchell and Patrick Monahan (winner). If you liked watching behind the scenes action on shows like Pop Idol, and obviously you are a fan of stand up comedy from all styles, then this is a fun watch. Good!
