When 'Phineas and Ferb' first started to air, Disney Channel was nowhere near as good as it used to be and still isn't. Instead of the likes of the animated Disney shows of the 80s and 90s, most of it was and still is animated shows with childish humour and Disney Channel sitcoms and unfortunately it tended to not be the good ones. This continued throughout the whole of 'Phineas and Ferb's' run to the extent that this became one of the few shows airing on the Channel worth watching.

Really liked the ideas of both "Tri-Stone Area" and "Doof Dynasty", and not only were those good (though not among the most creative 'Phineas and Ferb' ever did) ideas matched in the execution they were exceeded. Both episodes are equally brilliant, but the slight edge is given to "Doof Dynasty". Namely because of Doofenschmirtz being such a joy and for being different compared to most of the show's later episodes.

Everything here is brilliant. The animation is still wonderfully vibrant with very rich attention to detail. The music is dynamic with the action and the theme song is insanely catchy with very clever and quotable lyrics that anybody still in school fishing for how to spend their vacation will relate to.

Furthermore, the writing is a triumph. The dialogue is sharp and intelligent, with plenty of laugh-out-loud lines and witty exchanges. The gags are many and they are beautifully timed and never less than very amusing, all without being too manic or lacking in breathing space. The referencing is also on point, instantly recognisable, very funny and nostalgic and the placement never feels random or indulgent. Although the stories triumph on the entertainment value and having so much energy, it also succeeds on the charm and heart factors, "Doof Dynasty" is wonderfully wacky and strange and a joy for Doofenschmirtz fans. "Tri-Stone Area" does wonders too with its unique setting.

Absolutely loved the characters, especially Doofenschmirtz in his best, most inventive and funniest plot in a long time. Perry is his usual adorable, funny and resourceful self. Loved the big and little expressions in the animation and physical comedy. The voice acting is perfect, with Dan Povenmire clearly having an absolute ball in "Doof Dynasty".

Overall, brilliant. 10/10.

Time Shift #2 of Phineas and Ferb

So I thought this episode was quite interesting. The entire episode was a parody of Lord of the Rings. At this point in their TV series, I believe that it is very sad to have to steal another movie's ideas. I realize that the director is from family guy in which has parodied many movies in it's history, but most kids who are watching this show will not get the reference and the audience they are trying to appeal to, will most likely not like the randomness of it. The only reason I gave this episode more than 1 star is because it was kind of humorous in the way a kids show is trying to rip off a classic movie. All in all, this episode was very corny and could not possibly appeal to kids.
