The original footage was destroyed in a fire and the only footage that survived is this 28 minute preview that was put together for the Downtown New York Film Festival in 1985.
Jim Thirlwell, at the time a leader for the band Wiseblood and known as the leader of thrash metal band Foetus, offered up his song about Ricky Kasso to be used in the film, under the stipulation that the song's title would also be the title of the film, Where Evil Dwells.
Two other teens, Jimmy Troiano and Albert Quinones, were present at the murder, which took place in the Aztakea Woods of Northport while all four were high on what they believed to be mescaline, but was most likely LSD.
