In waiting for a Spanish series taking place in Barcelone docks, waterfront : MANO DE HIERRO and involving traffic and underworld, this one takes place in Le Havre - France - also the water front, and from several characters point of views. Olivier Gourmet is one of the lead, not the main although, because SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS his character dies by the first episode and his character resumes thru flashbacks in the story; the same as in CARLITO'S WAY or CARBONE. This is a powerful, tremendous story, with plenty of characters but easy to follow. It is riveting, poignant, gripping, with unbearable - but splendidly acted - characters, the same kind you had in D'ARGENT ET DE SANG, another series which I commented last week. The Olivier Gourmet's sons, are two pricks, bunchable idiots for whom you expect the worst fate, they are not disgusting but so lousy; not mean, cruel, just idiots for who you can not give any trust. Here, female characters are the real heroes. It is a drama with strong criminal elements. A real must see. Forget the last minute, it's a total piece of sh.... WHY WHY such a "twist"?
