A country with beautiful landscapes.

I enjoyed very much this journey in Slovenia: first of all Ljubljana, the capital received in 2016 the European green capital award: the centre of town is free of cars and buses: the kavalirs (the Slovenian name for gentleman) , electric shuttle buses take passagers and carry them through the centre (the ride is free). Besides there are many green spaces. Also the people of Ljubljana enjoy potable water: we see how Marjetka Zitnik is checking the quality of the water coming from a 80 meters deep water table and usually they didn't add chloride to the drinking water.

Slovenia is a land with a great biodiversity: we meet Lan Hocevar, a forester who is studying the lynx in the forests of Slovenia, Katarina Kanduc, a biologist is observing the olms (or proteus), the salamander which lives in the caves of Pastoina. We see also the Slovenian beekeepers taking care for the Carniolan honey bee (Apis mellifera carnica), a gentle and non-agressive bee who has survived in Slovenia because there the farmers don't use many pesticides. Then we see the lippizan horse (in Slovenian Lipicanec): Janez Peternel explains the cares for this famous horse.

Slovenia is a country in which the people enjoy hiking in the forest like Mateja Mazdan, her husband and their children, they enjoy also kayaking in the rivers (like Gasper Oletic ) or Robertina Sebjanic who goes often to the lake Cerknica and records with microphone the sounds under the water (the dialogues between the fishes).

Slovenia organizes in its 455 primary schools tests and evaluations of the pupils: then they can detect future sportsmen and sportswomen: Slovenia has won a good amount of medals in the Olympic games: we see Nick Krebs rowing in the lake Bled and his trainer Dusan Jurse (a former rower of the Yugoslavian team) tells that the people and the Olympic committee of Slovenia is supporting these young athletes.

I enjoyed also the zooms about Anita Sumer, a young baker who produce bread with sourdough instead of artificial yeast and she publishes videos and books about her natural bakery. Then we meet Luka Kosir, a chef who has his own organic garden and breeds also ducks for his restaurant and Aci Urbajs , a grape producer who produce each year 3.000 bottles of organic wine (wine made without sulfites).

We meet also a couple, Eva Tavlic Seifert and Aljac Celrc who have left the town to live in a mountain area, they bought an old chalert and restored it, they make their own furniture and now on internet they have showed their experience and they organized workshops about house building and gardens.

I enjoyed very much the encounters of Jérôme with the boatsman in the Lake Bled, with Miha Mlakar ( , the bears in Slovenia, the camera traps, the observation of a female bear), with Nika Stegel in Piran (the collect of floating wood, the walk through Piran, the boat tour and the fishing moment, the supper witthe fish eating and the panorama from the St. George cathedral), with Ivo Boscarol , the producer of electric light airplane and the flight over Sloveniaand with Sabina Cvilak, the operatic soprano (the rehearsal with the song of Madame Butterfly, the makeup in the National Theatre of Maribor, the visit of Maribor, the meeting with Renée her daughter and Marko her husband, the excursion through the landspace and the talk about the Slovenian people and their relationship with the nature: very nice encounters with very nice Slovenian men and women.
