Back to the future--again!
athomed25 December 2011
Couch gag rating: 7/10 A cute little gingerbread theme.

The episode: The Simpsons family flashes 30 years into the future in this Christmas episode. Bart and Lisa return home with their respective children. Maggie is now a rock start about to give birth. Enough said.

Favorite moment(s): The Christmas cards and Lisa's use of Google.

I really enjoyed this episode. Seeing the Simpsons in the future is always a treat. Look out for the references to today from tomorrow's perspective! There's a sentimental moment at the end with Bart and his children, Homer and his father, and then the entire family. I never get tired of those as we've continued to explore the Simpson family over 20+ years of episodes.

Overall rating: 8/10 If you don't watch more than a few Simpsons episodes a season, this is one to watch.

The Simpsons Returns to the Basics

This is the episode where the floating timeline breaks, of course it's non canon, but that does not make it bad, we get to see the Simpsons actual future. The bad review has 1/28 people agreeing, the "1" probably being his alternate account, Mark Will thinks this Simpsons episode is bad because it aired after 2002, which is dumb.

How Can This Episode Be In My Top 50?
e_daneva24 December 2023
Holidays of Future Passed is an amazing episode. Believe it or not, this episode is my favorite Simpsons Christmas episode ever!!! Holidays of Future Passed just has super great humor. I mean, come on. This is one of the funniest Simpsons episodes ever. This episode goes in my top 50 Simpsons episodes EVER!! This episode also has a great amount of heart too. This episode just has a great mix of heart, comedy, creativity, and an interesting plot. I like how in recent episodes they had the kids from this episode all grown up. This is a great Christmas Simpsons episode, really, this is a great Simpsons episode even if you don't celebrate Christmas or if it isn't Christmas. In all, I give this a 9.1 out of 10.

Welcome Back Simpsons

Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe this episode was good. I've hated a lot of Simpsons episodes, but this is a true masterpiece. Written by J. Stewart Burns co-writer of Futurama, his other episodes were good to OK, but this has to be his best episode! It's about 30 years into the future where Bart is a 40 year old recently divorced guy who lives in Springfield Elementary now a apartment with his two kids, and still acts 30 years younger then he is, and tries to connect with his children, but is unsuccessful. Lisa is a 38 year old businesswoman married to Milhouse who also tries to connect with her daughter, but is unsuccessful. And Maggie is a 31 year old rock star and is getting birth to a baby. I don't want to give a full perspective of what happened, but that is the concept of the episode. The reason why it's good is because Burns came up with a lot of good jokes for the show. Not only that, but there were parts that were sad. Also, the Ralph's Clones joke made me laugh for the first time watching a new episode of The Simpsons in 10 years. I would recommend this to everybody, especially a new Simpsons fan. If they keep this up, The Simpsons will return to Comedy Gold and escape Comedy Fail.

Holidays Of Futures Passed is a fantastic episodes and after I saw it,it instantly became one of my favorite Simpsons episodes,it puts two Simpsons episodes that I always enjoy together,Christmas episodes and future episodes.

We look forward a few years into the future where the whole family is coming home for Christmas,Bart, who is now living in Springfield Elementary which is now a condo, comes with his two sons, who like Homer more than himLisa, who is married to Milhouse comes with her daughter who behaves like Bart and Maggie comes who is now pregnant and a big pop star, and goes into labour during Christmas dinner.

Best Episode Of The Season
jimmyjamslayer200715 December 2013
I Love This Episode. It Was Amazingly Original and Funny. I Just Watched It. I Love How They had added It As A Bonus Feature On The New Season 16 DVD Set. Seeing As Season 23 Prob Wont Be Released to DVD For Another 7 Years. lol. I Think They Need to Start Releasing The Seasons Faster. A Season A Year Is Not enough For Us Fans. As Far As The Episode It Was Another Future Episode and a Very Original One At That. Prob The Best One Ever. Very Funny and Very Cool Concepts. The Simpsons Has Always Been My Favorite Show Since It Fist Came Out. I Remember Watching It Back When I Was in Middle School and I Am 38 Now. its Great That Its Still On T.V. I Hope It Stays On For Another 20 Years. Simpsons Fan 4-Life, James Burns
