Whenever I finish a series thinking 'hm, funny enough', it was probably not quite funny enough. The Pit Stop and some podcasts make me cackle inanely. This made me chuckle respectfully.

Wish it were less scripted and the cast was allowed more natural interactions with one another, because that's where a lot of the magic lives and dies. Even when the script is on point, which it often is, mind you, the editing is not on par with what Drag Race has us accustomed to, and so it cripples many of the jokes that might have been funny on paper.

That said, once I got over how the humor would mostly be on the dry side, I made my peace and appreciated it for what it is. It's witty and riddled with tongue-in-cheek moments that will have you... not in stitches, perhaps, but smiling and shaking your head fondly. If you consider watching your favorite drag queens get moderately silly to be worth your time, give it a go. I comfortably give it a 7 while wishing I could have given it more.

The first episode was fantastic, the second chaos, and they just got crazier from there. I love that they are having fun. The puns, the puns, Allllllll the puns! How can you not get that this is making fun of everything?

The hosts, the queens, MURRAY FREAKIN' HILL "Showbiz!' I swear it's also a perfect satire of 'reality' competition shows! I love how they leave it so crazy, unhinged, and blooper filled.

I was really looking forward to this! The concept is great with amazing cast. However, the execution is awful! You can truly see when they make a "real" joke because the cast laughs candidly and it's fun and relaxed. Most jokes are however, forced. The editing is incredibly jarring, there's too much happening and jumping between events. First, I can see that the decorations are done, next, they have jumped back before they're done with that and they're cooking. They should've made the editing more logical according to time. Should've also been honest that they are finished with the concept ahead of time and just slowly introduced it in the beginning instead of making it seem as they're on a time crunch. "this is what we have planned and will now make a reality". Incredibly difficult to follow along, TOO many jarring cuts with too many things happening!! I can see through the awful editing that this could've been great, the cooking could've been so FUN but all we got was the messy jump-cuts. We can't get to know the teams at all with the constant jumping around, so there's no real reason for us to cheer for any of the teams. I would have really liked a second season of this with a more calmer and logical editing.

I had no idea that a show was coming to the little screen that wasn't connected to RPDR or WOW.. I just happened to stumble across a preview on a search and couldn't wait to sit down and start watching. Jinx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme are up against Jackie Beat and Sherry Vine in the first episode. MC'd by Murray Hill, with Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka and Haneefah Wood as hosts-judges. I particularly liked the mix of faces I know and the queens that I don't.

Let me start with.. I don't sit down to be some arm-chair critic and if I'm not in the mood for a particular show/movie, I wait before I post anything if I feel compelled too.

For me this show has a little hint of the days when LGBTQ media was underground but it did have enough polish to be contemporary. I also enjoyed that the production doesn't take things too seriously, just campy fun. There are plenty of funny moments between everyone, in particular when Bianca Del Rio lets that tongue loose. What I enjoyed is seeing that the cast/crew were having a good time doin' what they do.

Episode 2 was a lil wonkie in the dining room skit but over-all I can't wait for a season 2.. Just sit back and have a good watch..

First, I totally get the campy vibes & humor. It's so important to continue to show and celebrate Drag. They're truly some of the most talented people out there. So, I love that this is providing more exposure to the art. But the pacing of the show is so choppy and sloppy. My brain cannot handle it. There are too many things going on and not a cohesive storyline. It bounces from cooking to Sue Chef to cooking to singing to cooking to beefcake helpers to cooking to a dinner party. I felt like I didn't know where to focus. It also looks like an elementary school kid filmed it. Sorrrrry, but this show is a drag. Heh heh heh.

Listen. Some of the moments made me cringe, and I mean, A LOT. The editing feels choppy, with scenes being 10 seconds of a scripted punchline before it goes into another scene with a punchline. The hosts are alright (Neil Patrick Harris was the funniest)

The cooking element is fun but barely showcased. It sadly didn't live up to that potential that I craved from a cooking format. However, the queens are really the main dish of the omelette. The crème de la crème if you will. It was enjoyable to watch my favorite queens in new content.

It was a fun, colorful thing to put in the background as I worked. I did find it entertaining, and I wish there was more shows with drag performers.

There seems to be multiple 1 star bot reviews that seem copy pasted in these reviews.

Drag me to Dinner should be grated into digital compost. And relegated to the dustbin of demeaning drag history, dietarily unfit as it is for human consumption. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka should be ashamed to inflict this obvious vanity project upon us. Contrived would be generous criticism of this awful presentation. Inartfully constructed as a themed dinner party competition, an ostensibly promising premise descends into a dumpster dive of depravity and debauchery, but depressingly unfunny. Harris and Burtka have absolutely no clue about what contemporary drag is and drive what should be a talent showcase off the stage and down the drain. Everything feels forced and overacted, like vaudeville gone wild. Screaming slapstick sadly stifles anything potentially clever or witty. Do yourself a favor and don't dine on this disaster... just dash away as fast as you can.

Had me laughing and intrigued so much I binged it in a night! Beautiful, cheesy, funny, ridiculous, loved it. Don't take it so seriously it's freaking satire! They are drag queens, it is supposed to be ridiculous, extra, and campy. Some parts are funnier than others, but I laughed during each episode and loved seeing some of my favorite queens! I enjoyed the fact it didn't take itself so seriously and wasn't all super professional. It wouldn't be as enjoyable if it was like that. It reminded me a little of The Match game in the 70's, kind of unscripted, funny, free reign, ridiculous, corny, in the best ways!

This could've been so good it has such a great cast of drag performers. The idea was there, but the execution is an abomination. I don't understand why they wanted to do something completely fake. They could've actually just done the concept as a dinner, as normal, and just relied on the mess that would've come naturally. It's boring because it's so fake. It doesn't grab your attention because it's so fake. Drag performers are artists, this isn't art. The whole ditzy stupid I don't know what I'm doing just got taken too far. Such a shame on a wasted opportunity. It's highly unlikely this will make it to season 2.

Seems very overproduced and something about the show doesn't hit the spot.

The concept of the show is amazing. I've always wanted a 'Come Dine With Me' drag show but I think it should be like this you sit everyone down and the cameras follow the guests more than the cooking side of it.

A couple of things that don't hit the spot below though as if they cleaned up a few things, it could be an amazing show;

1 The David guy doesn't sit well as just seems to be there for literally no reason and brings nothing to the show.

2 Neil Patrick Harris feels like he was placed in the show for some reason. Not sure what that reason was.

3 The Murray host's voice grates on the ears.

4 Camera needs to focus on the guests and not on the "cooking".

5 The whole back of house stuff is awkward and crap too. Like, c'mon.

I absolutely loved this. Yes, the pacing is uneven - that's part of the charm. If you like 'Between Two Ferns' this will entertain you. It's not a competitive reality show so much as it's a showcase of creativity from teams of queens, and I loved it for that. I like the meta-ness, I like the awkwardness, I like that it's more about having fun in the kitchen than about stunning meals. I also really appreciate that it's not just Drag Race queens, but a range! During a time when drag is being demonized, this camp show is refreshing. I thought this was a wonderful show with many talented people getting to enjoy themselves.

The concept is one that I found intriguing, and it has the makings of something engaging, humorous, innovative, and entertaining. And the queens they got to participate are some of the best in the biz that could truly make a show like this shine. Unfortunately, their brilliance is completely overshadowed by everyone else. The hosting and judging is painful to watch at times, as they try far too hard and completely miss the mark. Seriously, this is some dreadful television--it's a one-star show, but I'm throwing an extra one in for the queens who still managed to shine amidst the droll that just dripped all around them. Save your time and find something else.

Some of the reviews here are taking themselves far too seriously. Drag Queens and fun, funny and sometimes crass. If you don't understand that of course you get the show. This is the one 'reality' show that didn't make me stab my eyes out. This quirky show has tons of laughs and is enjoyable.

Also- I find it weird that the show was released on Hulu 12 hours ago and there are so many negative reviews. I feel that for people to have made those reviews they only watched one or two episodes if they are legitimate people and not bots.

Before I rated it said 48 ratings. I added mine and it still said 48 and did not create a new average.

Don't be a stick in the mud- watch for yourselves and make an unbiased review.

Usually I love all things drag-related. But oh my God, this is painful to watch.

I read about it and saw the trailer. Bianca said it herself in the first episode: what could possibly go wrong? And then she rolled her eyes. So let's start with the host. I didn't know if it was a man, a woman with fake moustache or whatever but I have two words for this Murray Hill person: not funny! And so is the whole show. Cringe, bad jokes, you can hear the crickets in the background. I am a very open-minded person but some of the jokes went over the line and it looked almost vulgar and disgusting. So, spare your time and do not watch this BS/

I don't normally review, but being a gay individual, I felt compelled to. I love seeing the girls on TV representing all of us lgbtq+ people. As usual, the queens are always gorgeous & hilarious. We love to see the girls girling about. Hopefully, we'll get to see even more programming featuring drag entertainers. It's what the world needs. Drag isn't dangerous. I enjoyed pretty much all of the episodes. There were a couple that weren't as funny as some of the others, but they're still great. The only part I found a little cringe was the sous chef. Two words David, just don't. Have a gay ol time.

This is one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life. I've managed to get through episodes 1 & 2. The hosts are terrifyingly bad, the running gags and bits are among the most cringe things ever witnessed and the editing, art direction, music, even the font they use are social terrorism. If you are the type of person that enjoys desperate hams trying very very hard to be funny and cutesy in the most obvious way, then you will Enjoy this show. If you are under the influence or perhaps suffer from a TBI, you might be able to enjoy this show. If you are over the age of 80, yt and in a nursing home, you might get a chuckle out of this show. Perhaps toddlers might enjoy the bright colors and costumes? Imagine the worst acting and improv challenges on drag race extended to 45 minutes. I don't know how Bianca agreed to do this show. Perhaps She owed someone a massive favor or she needed to pay some overdue bills? It's just so bad guys. So so bad.

There is clever camp, and then there is lazy camp. Unfortunately this show falls into the latter category. The ideas seem less than fully developed and the performances seem to fall well short of what I have seen virtually all of the cast do in any other project. I lightly chuckled one time over the course of three episodes. It is not about being unappreciative or lacking a sense of humor. I just know that this cast and writers are smarter than this.

I feel this show is a more watered down introduction to drag for the curious viewer, but my god I expected much better. Even the very recycled catch phrase buffet that RuPaul did on SNL was more clever and edgy, and that was sanded down to a sphere.

A really funny and enjoyable show that doesn't take itself seriously and creates a lot of unexpected and funny moments. I love the light hearted humor and exposure for the community that this show provides. I've really enjoyed all 10 episodes and it's refreshing to have such a irreverent and chaotic show to watch when I want to lay comatose on the couch and relax. I'm really glad Neil and David put this show together because I don't think we get enough silly fun like this with much of the shows that drag is a part of currently. It's wonderful to see so many queens allowed to be their bonkers selves with no real reward or consequence.

I agree with many of the other reviews here - this show had so many fabulous ingredients, but it just didn't work (unfortunately!).

I'm such a fan of Neil Patrick Harris, as well as many of the beautiful Queens that were featured on the show. (I mean..oh my god.... BIANCA! And I'm also a NY'er so it was a treat to see Murray Hill hosting! Yay!)

I was expecting campy vibes & humor, lots of sass and sparkle...what a treat. Instead, it was very hard to watch!

I mean, I can understand how NPH and his husband David would want to work together on the project. (Maybe they don't get to see each other much, and this project meant time together?) But David was so incredibly awkward and hard to watch! He should just have been behind the scenes. He does get better as the episodes progress, but still it seems like his presence is forced (like, why is he there?).

And then NPH came off as rude and 'not in the vibe' in the dinner scenes - and not in a funny way. Especially in that first episode - wow, total CRINGE. He seemed uncomfortable and out of place to me. Which is hard for me to admit because, again, I love him! And I 100% thought this would all work together. Maybe he's just not good without a script and/or prepared monologue/jokes?

He's much better in the Bianca's dressing room skits/scenes - which are obviously totally scripted. He at least seems a bit more comfortable.

And then, most unfortunately - they just didn't showcase the girls well.

It came off as though the 'ask' of pulling all of the elements of the dinner together was too much, there was too much focus put on that. They were stressed & rushed, instead of just allowing them to relax into something more natural and just be the Queens that they are. It all seemed forced and overacted, and I don't think I even laughed once.

Somehow the entire charm of Drag was lost here. There was so much potential - and unfortunately it was mostly lost and their talent wasted.

This show/the producers stifled the natural chemistry and campy humor. It all fell flat and completely unfunny by trying to force it. Drag taps into our human desire for fun, play, and creativity, and this all seemed too formulaic to me.

I admit that sadly I only made it through the first 4 episodes. Maybe it got better, and found its rhythm. But it was too painful to hang in there and see!

Drag Me to Dinner, a game show reality TV comedy, falls disappointingly short of expectations with lackluster performances and a complete absence of humor. Even with an ensemble of talented individuals, their talents are wasted due to the poor writing and direction. The chemistry between the actors feels forced and unnatural, leaving the audience disconnected and unengaged.

Furthermore, the overall pacing of Drag Me to Dinner is tedious, exacerbating the lack of entertainment value. The episodes drag on without any substantial plot progression or captivating storylines. It becomes increasingly difficult to invest in the show's premise when it fails to hold your attention or provide any semblance of excitement.

Based on my experience with the first four episodes, I cannot recommend Drag Me to Dinner to anyone. The show is a prime example of wasted potential, with a promising concept that falls flat in execution. Rather than investing in a second season, it would be wise to allocate resources towards creating something more compelling and entertaining.

In conclusion, Drag Me to Dinner (2023) fails to deliver on its promises of a humorous and engaging reality TV comedy. With unimpressive performances, an absence of laughter-inducing moments, and a lackluster overall experience, the show proves to be a tedious and boring watch. I sincerely hope that future endeavors from the creators will showcase more creativity and deliver a more satisfying entertainment experience.

The premise of Drag me to Dinner was intriguing, has some of the best drag artists performing it, stars Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and Bianca del Rio. All of that can and should magically add up to a stellar show, advancing the art of drag and comedy.

Then the first episode began and it all went to hell very quickly.

The show's premise is a farce, the acting from the queens and from NPH and fellow judges was pedantic at best, and the editing was abysmal.

NPH whom I have loved and followed since Doogie Howser, MD up through Hedwig, and ASOUE knows how to be an incredible comic actor; and yet here he feels awkward, uncomfortable and out of place. You know something horrific must be happening if Bianca del Rio keeps her mouth shut, which she does for most of every episode.

The show jumps and cuts back and forth so much it felt like some one was doing cocaine in a blender while editing this dreck. The viewer has no idea what to focus upon, nor do we have any empathy for the teams "competing". The production value is sophomoric at best.

Everything is overtly forced, overacted and manipulative.

Why do you have to make a mockery out of hard working drag artists? Why not make it as the title promised? A group of drag artists hosting a fabulous dinner party with help from friends all to show the world that the queer community is not a joke.

After the second episode I couldn't stomach anymore.
