Some Riot (2011)
** (out of 4)
Joshua Green directed and wrote this four-minute short film about a man (Danny Hastie) caught between life and death. There's really not too much in terms of a story but that's pretty much to be expected with such a short running time. With that said, there's nothing bad here but at the same time I wouldn't really say there's anything overly good either. I thought the director was able to build up some atmosphere with this "middle ground" and there was some nice camera effects as well. This film is meant to take place after life and just before death and for the most part I thought it captured another land quite nicely. There just wasn't much that really jumped out here and there certainly wasn't any emotional connection to the story.
