A very brief short by Mark Gustafson, the animation director of Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox and co-directing Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio version.
The plot is very simple, basically serving as a setup for a gag, involving the story of man who gets a blowup doll via mail, with things taking an unexpected turn.
I can't say very much else without spoiling the little twist at the end, but despite the simplicity of the story, the nice, atmospheric animation makes an enjoyable watching experience.
The visual contrast between Joe and his doll makes me think the latter was animated using CGI. If that was the case, both animation techniques blended perfectly well.
