Unspeakably Dull
A tale about a group of (estranged) sisters who reunite after the death of their wealthy father. They are each bequeathed an equal share of their father's wealth after his demise - which one of the sisters is not happy about.

The first thing that's noticeable is the film's sound off in places (external shots seem to have rather loud background noise making the dialogue of the characters - at times - hard to hear). The subtitles are, however, next to useless as they seem to be about a minute earlier than any dialogue spoken.

There is a lot of 'flashbacking' in the movie by the sisters which is not shown clearly and, at times, can leave the viewer puzzled as to whether the events they are watching were something that happened in the past or are taking place in the present time-line.

As for the acting - this varies between average to poor. Lindsay Goranson's portrayal as vengeful sister, Kathryn, is adequate but missing any emotion. She rages a lot but that's about it. As for Lorraine K Bingham's performance as Mrs Cravitz towards the end of the movie, the least said about this the better.

I watched this courtesy of Amazon Prime but would not recommend due to the pacing of the story, the script writing and the yawn-worthy (non)twist at the end of the tale.

Pretty bad

I'll admit right off, I did not finish watching this film. It really suffered from its low budget. Cinematography is just awful. Half the shots are backlit, so faces are shadowed or blown out. The videographer did not pay any attention to framing. The clumsiness of it was astonishing at times. The acting is worse than I've seen in High School productions. With all that going for it, I really had no interest in finishing it. There wasn't enough plot or decent writing to rescue the film. Dialog was just bad. I'm a little shocked this has so many 9 and 10 ratings. I gave it a 3 because I can't in good conscience trash it with a 1 or 2 not having seen the ending.

What is This?
michael-daniels-8452116 January 2018
So, the director went out one day and stopped a few shoppers outside Walmart and asked them if they would like to be in a movie! "It's called Caveat", announced the director. "Hey! Yes, why not". the happy shoppers said. "Do we need to act though?" "Oh don't worry about that", replied the director. And so this movie was born. Why oh why is it so difficult to find decent professional actors? Without actors you DON'T HAVE A MOVIE and never will have! SIMPLE! End of Lesson 1 to would be film makers.

Why
These actors shouldn't even be in local plays let alone a movie.

Bitter but very well done

I wasn't sure what to think when I first read about this film. I am a fan of Lindsay Goranson but still.... I was very pleasantly surprised at the professionalism in this film. The acting was all very good, the music, especially the piano, was also very well done. I won't write spoilers but talk about a dysfunctional family!!!! I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes out of the ordinary psychological movies. Some of the production was a bit below the so called "Hollywood" standards but for the most part, it was certainly equal to many of the "made for TV" movies and the acting was certainly better than the usual Syfy movies. I gave it 9 stars because it isn't perfect but it is very well done.
