(Aotn) We were honored to have the chance to catch up with true Renaissance Man producer, director and writer Deon Taylor. Taylor and his film studio Hidden Empire Film Group are poised to have an absolutely phenomenal year. Currently, Taylor has just wrapped production on the upcoming psychological horror film “Motivated Seller” which will star Michael Ealy, Dennis Quaid and Meagan Good. He also has two additional films currently in post-production which are “Traffik” and “Akuma” and other project that is also coming down the pipeline in the very near future.

Veteran Hollywood animator Tony Bancroft, director of Disney's Mulan and the recently released Animal Crackers, has signed to direct the Chinese animated musical Songhua.
The announcement was made during a signing ceremony on day two of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
The film, written by Joe Bockol (Akuma), will be co-produced by Astro-Nomical Entertainment in association with Pelagius Entertainment.
Inspired by the famed Harbin ice festival in northern China, Songhua is based on themes from Chinese folklore, the producers say. The film is set in ancient China, in a mythical world of ice, and the story follows a quick-witted spirit who helps a young...

Screen Media Films has secured worldwide distribution rights to director Deon Taylor's latest and is planning a U.S. theatrical release next fall. Below you'll find the artwork along with a promo trailer that doesn't feature any footage from the flick but is pretty damned spooky nonetheless.
Taylor wrote the screenplay with Blayne Weaver and Joe Bockol. The film will be shot in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Japan and San Francisco. Shooting's scheduled to begin November 10th although no cast has been announced yet.

Akuma horror pic to be helmed and produced by Deon Letter of Chain Letter. Screen Media distributes. Hidden Empire Film Group's Deon Taylor directs the film from a script he wrote with Blayne Weaver and Joe Brockol which follows a young Japanese womain looking to reassemble her life after a tragedy. As she tries hard to push past her problems, she realizes she's up against something very dark. Variety reports that Screen Media Films will distribute Akuma worldwide with a U.S. release coming next fall. Roxanne Avent produces alongside Deon Taylor.
