- Since the main story within the story deals with the Book of Hosea, it deals with a man whose wife is a prostitute, or as movie's character call her, more politely, a harlot.
- A woman flirts with a man that's not her husband and is later seen at his house and, when he implies he wants her in his bed for sex, she refuses. Upon her refusal, he tries one more time to tell her to be in bed, and, upon another refusal, she is taken out of the house to be auctioned off.
