Sex & Nudity

  • A few very mild suggestive references. Nothing to be worried about.
  • People have been calling the character Valeria all sorts of names because of her good looks.
  • In one mission, players can navigate through a red light district in Amsterdam. There are shops with signs such as "Live Sex Theater" and "S&M" with posters of underwear and neon signs of outlines of sex symbols (e.g. Legs with high heels), but it is impossible for the player to enter a shop or see what's inside it.
  • Some characters like Valeria and Izzy wear revealing clothes.
  • Some characters wear skimpy clothing and have suggestive calling cards.

Violence & Gore

  • When you shoot the enemies blood squirts out in a realistic way. You can execute enemies in multiplayer and story mode, in both modes the executions are brutal although in multiplayer they are worse, 2 multiplayer executions include dismemberment. Every single dismemberment effect can be censured on configuration
  • Players shoot enemies, resulting in blood splatter which can stain surfaces. When an enemy is killed, players can repeatedly shoot the corpse and inflict post mortem damage, which results in more blood splatter and bullet wounds being visible on the enemy.
  • Brief dismemberment can occur in the Multiplayer modes if a player is shot by a player using a weapon with dismemberment effects. The player explodes into small flesh chunks and limbs which fades away after around 3 seconds. Dismemberment can be turned off in the game settings.
  • Players can perform finishing moves (i.e. Stylized executions) on enemies from behind. They're often graphic (e.g. Firing a sniper rifle to the head at point blank range, resulting in copious blood splatter, stomping on an enemy's head, slitting an enemy's throat), but they're relatively brief (lasting around 4 seconds) and moderate.

Profanity

  • Players might swear on voice chat
  • Profanity and language in both Spanish and English throughout the campaign.
  • There are several uses of "f**k" and its derivatives, "shit", "bitch", "ass", "bloody" and "piss". Some bad language is uttered in Arabic or Spanish, which shows up translated in the subtitles. Players can be exposed to online voice chat with other players, which isn't actively moderated; however, players can report other players who are using abusive language in voice chat, which will ban the offender from using voice chat for a set period of time.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The entire enemy faction is the Mexican Cartel, so while there is no explicit drug use there is lots of talk about it.
  • A cartel member opens a door revealing another cartel member implicitly snorting cocaine, however no cocaine is seen and a cartel member tells him off.
  • Drug paraphernalia in the form of cocaine packets can be seen in many levels (e.g. Violence and Timing, Shipment). When a packet is shot it explodes into cocaine dust and disappears. Characters cannot breathe in the cocaine.
  • Some calling cards feature depictions of marijuana and one character is disguised as a marijuana bush and is covered in marijuana leaves. One multiplayer character has a bong attached to his mask and he implicitly uses it during battle.
  • In Multiplayer, players can choose a field upgrade called Battle Rage which, when activated, shows a brief cutscene of the player's character inhaling an experimental military stimulant from a canister. This may be mistaken for cocaine.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • As with previous Call of Duty games, Multiplayer and Warzone are the least intense modes and also where a majority of players will be spending their time.
  • If it were a movie, it'd most likely be rated R for strong bloody action violence, pervasive language and thematic material.
  • Several missions depict the ruthlessness and brutality of Mexican drug cartels.

Spoilers

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • One of the game's latter missions involves the betrayal of key characters. You are wounded and must navigate away from the traitors as they commit war crimes and murder civilians in cold blood. The level is littered with the bloody bodies of dead men, women, and sometimes children. This mission is easily one of the darkest and is very disturbing.
