- Arya makes friends with Gendry. Tyrion tries to take control of the Small Council. Theon arrives at his home, Pyke, in order to persuade his father into helping Robb with the war. Jon tries to investigate Craster's secret.
- In the wake of a bloody purge in the capital, Tyrion chastens Cersei for alienating the king's subjects. On the road north, Arya shares a secret with Gendry, a Night's Watch recruit. With supplies dwindling, one of Dany's scouts returns with news of their position. After nine years as a Stark ward, Theon Greyjoy reunites with his father Balon, who wants to restore the ancient Kingdom of the Iron Islands. Davos enlists Salladhor Saan, a pirate, to join forces with Stannis and Melisandre for a naval invasion of King's Landing.—JustHayden
- Tyrion takes steps to reinforce his position at King's Landing, despite Cersei's objections. Arya reveals her true identity to Gendry after two of the King's guards arrive looking for him. Theon Greyjoy returns home to the Iron Islands to enlist his father Balon's fleet for Robb's war against the Lannisters. The old man doesn't trust him and has no intention of letting him command the fleet or of allying himself with his old enemies. North of the wall, the men of the Night's Watch have encamped with Craster but have been forbidden to talk to any of his many wives. Jon Snow sees something he shouldn't have however. Stannis Baratheon meanwhile enlists the help of pirates for the sea power he needs to do battle. Daenerys receive bad news when one of her riders' horses returns to their camp.—garykmcd
- Arya is traveling with Yoren and the Night's Watch recruits when two Golden Cloaks arrive at their camping requesting Gendry, but Yoren uses his sword to send them back. However they promise to return with more guards. Cersei does not accept the peace terms proposed by Robb. Tyrion arrests Janos Stynt, and names Bronn as the new Commander of the City Watch. Theon Greyjoy travels to the Iron Islands to meet his father Balon and deliver Robb's proposal of alliance that is immediately rejected by Balon. He also meets his sister Yara that is the pride and joy of Balon. Beyond the Wall, Jon Snow sees Craster leaving a baby in the woods during the night. - Robb's hopes to win the though men of the barren Iron islands for the cause of the North, as Winterfell-raised prince Theon Greyjoy practically assures, but when he returns home, his scrooge father Balon scolds Theon effeminated by the Starks, preferring his kenau daughter Yara to fight for his Greyjoy claim to a throne. Squire Gendry sees trough Arya's cross-dressing but agrees to keep his fellow refugee's gender and identity secret after knight Yoren fights off the Golden Cloak guardsmen, whose indignant 'flippant' City Watch commander Janos Stynt mistrusting Hand Tyrion, who waves regent Cersei's objections as further incompetence, replaces by loyal Bronn. Daenerys's part's despair grows as rival splinter khals decapitated the most promising scout, loyal Rakharo. Stannis dislikes the red witch demanding his adulterous 'devotion' despite his ill spouse and buys the pirate chief's fleet for his own war effort. Jon scolds Sam's naive intent to help a pregnant daughter of the incestuous Wildling patriarch escape with the Watch party if she gets a son, but can't resists rescuing a newborn, only to be clobbered by Craster himself. Petyr pulls rank on his brothel stock, Varys reverses the threat of Tyrion, whose private whore he discovered.—KGF Vissers
- One of Yoren's prisoners is Jaqen H'Ghar, who tries to befriend Arya. Jaqen thinks Arya is the boy named Arry. The King's soldiers catch up with Yoren caravan and look for RObert's bastard, who is recognized by a bull's helmet. Yoren forces the soldiers to leave by saying that the men belong to Night's watch now, and beyond the reach of Kings and Queens. Gendry tells Arya that he is bad luck. Lord Arryn died few weeks after talking to him, and so did Lord Stark. Arya reveals her true identity to Gendry and that she feared that the soldiers had come looking for her.
Returning to his home of Pyke after nine years as the Starks' ward, Theon is reunited with his sister, Yara (Gemma Whelan), and his father, Balon, who despises Theon for his Northern ways (he buys things instead of taking them from corpses he made) and intends to win back his crown (of the Seven Kingdoms) by force. Balon spits on Robb's offer to make him King of the Iron Islands if he destroys Robb's enemies for him. But he wants Yarra to lead his forces and not Theon.
Varys (Conleth Hill) finds out the Tyrion has a whore Shae in his bedchambers. Tyrion receives Joer's letter asking for more men, but Cersei refuses the same. Tyrion is concerned about talk of a new King of wild-lings of the North and the talk of rise of the un-dead. Cersei dismisses the letter from Joer as superstition, while Tyrion says that Joer never lies.
Cersei rejects Robb's terms, and Tyrion exiles Jonas Slynt (Dominic Carter), head of the Gold Cloaks (the King's personal guards and the man who betrayed Ned Stark (as the head of city guards, and the man who killed all of Robert's bastards on Cersei's orders)), to the Wall (Tyrion says that he wouldn't feel safe with a man who betrayed the last King's Hand (Ned)), and promotes Bronn (Jerome Flynn) to Commander of the Watch. Tyrion realizes that Joffrey is getting out of hand and is not even listening to his own mother Cersei. Cersei never ordered Jonas to kill the babies, it was Joffrey. Jonas's crimes were alienating the city against the Lannisters and giving a rallying cry to their anger (the Queen murders babies).
Ros is having dealing with the killing of one of Robert's bastard. This particular child was a baby, belonging to one of the girls at the brothel. Petyr counsels her. Petyr tells Ros that if she doesn't make him money, he wont have any use for her and tells her to get back to work. Petyr threatens to sell her to the most depraved man he can find, if she does not.
North of the Wall, Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) is approached by one of Craster's daughters, Gilly (Hannah Murray), who is pregnant and fears for her unborn son; Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is reluctant to help her despite Sam's pleas. Sam wants Jon's help to take Gilly when they leave for Castle Black. Jon knows Joer wont stand for it.
In the Red Waste, one of the horses returns to Daenerys with the severed head of its rider in a pouch, a message from one of her enemies. Jorah tells Daenerys that all the other Khals of the Dothraki will never accept a woman leading one of their tribes. Daenerys is livid with the suggestion.
In Dragonstone, Davos, Stannis' henchman, recruits the pirate Salladhor Saan (Lucian Msamati) to Stannis' side (As the pirate has 30 ships to help Stannis attack the King's Landing). Salladhor agrees but wants to have Cersei for himself, if they manage to succeed to survive Blackwater bay. Stannis has sex with Melisandre to obtain the son his wife cannot give him. Melisandre says that Stannis should give himself completely to the God of the Light through her, and the Gods will forge his victory for him.
Jon discovers that Craster sacrifices his sons to the White Walkers; Craster sees him spying and knocks Jon unconscious.
