Nowadays a lot of horrors are coming from the north, this is one from Norwegian. Northern horrors are known for pure gore flicks. So it's always dangerous to release a flick worldwide if it is the first attempt of a director. This is Lars-Erik Lief first attempt and I have mixed feelings about it. Don't get me wrong, I dig exploitation and trash.
I even can stand first time actors but then you must have something strong to make it believable. The weakest thing in horror is to find the perfect actor to do the killer. It stands or it falls by choosing that actor. This time it falls. The killer wasn't scary and wasn't even believable, he tried to be a psycho but it just didn't work out.
Also there are a few problems with the editing. Some scene's just take a bit too long. On part of the acting it could have been so much scarier. When they see the killer for example driving away with a victim, the victims sister do see her head coming across the car's window and she just say her name, not even in panic or screaming. A mistake.
But what makes it watchable is the use of a lot of blood. Okay, some is CGI but most blood you see is being cut from naked girls. And there are a lot of them in this Norwegian horror. It's as gratuitous as it can get especially the one with the tattooed girl with piercing through her nipples.
It's sad that some acting tear this flick down and the killer that isn't believable at all. On the disc you can see the original ending but due problems with second unit camera they couldn't use it and that explains the sudden end of this flick. If you want a no brainer with some juggs here and there then this is your thing.
