When you think about it, Sylvester Stallone's "Rambo" movies are really a great dishonor to Vietnam veterans especially the first one. Playing them like they are transient violent psychos is unfair and unjust. Yes the Vietnam veterans were treated very badly when they came home HOWEVER they are a wonderful bunch of guys who have accomplished much and deserve our respect. Our leaders in Desert Storm Schwarzkopf and Powell served in Vietnam and there are countless others who are success stories. This original ending has Rambo giving up in the end and begging Colonel Trautman to kill him and he does. They wouldn't have made all those terrible sequels if that had happened and I would have preferred that.
