Worst Movie of a Lifetime
callmeshaun10 April 2012
Rotten tomatoes would had been a better option than Housefull 2.

If Housefull was crap then Housefull 2 is a crap train.

Its full of isolated non sense stuff that transcends the requirement of a filmmaking.

Nowadays producers know a secret formula....Skinshow and India's ever increasing population. They know that India is such as place where there would never be any investment for hockey fields bu rather a whole lot of money will be thrown away to set up multiplexes to welcome movies like Houseful 2 & Players.

Even though its way short of everything except non sense India is that country who would even stampede in order to run to theaters and get an early seat to watch these movies.

I would go for N/10 - Non Sense

Funny but not too great
silvan-desouza6 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Sajid Khan the jerk on TV and the big mouth is back with his third directorial venture HOUSEFULL 2 which is a sequel of his last film HOUSEFULL(2010) which was a surprise hit when Akki's career was going downhill

The film returns Akshay, Ritiesh, Boman, Randhir Kapoor and adds in the mayhem Mithun, Johny Lever, John Abraham, Rishi and Shreyas and also brings back Chunky Pandey the only person reprising his character from the original. The heroines too are changed here, Instead of Lara, Deepika who hammed in the original we have Asin, Jacqueline, Zarine Khan and Shazahn Padamsee who are not better One forgets their individuality as barring Asin most of them frown, scream .etc

The movie has a complicated plot as usual and there are several funny portions The film starts off well, The warring families and their bickering is funny and also Ritiesh and John portions followed by Akki's intro Akki- John enimeity which goes back to their college days and then when they return is also good, Sajid Khan after the success of FORCE also adds some more desi action which seems forced The comedy however also is overdone too badly, Sajid Khan has a fixation with animals, In the original we had Akki bring a pet as a Lion here we have crocodiles and phyton as pets and both animals do harm to characters, The crocodile bites Ritiesh's anus while the phyton bites Shreya's crotch. Many comedy scenes are overdone, loud and stretched as always with Sajid Khan's movies The second half has some better comedy with the entire confusion in Mithun's bungalow however stupid it seems Mithun's flashback showing him as a daaku too seems stupid but is funny Akshay's constant rolling of his tongue seems funny but gets tiring at times and looks far fetched One wishes there was more of Ranjit's character which is called RANJEET V.ASNA K PUJARI The original ended in Birguimham palace with a laughter gas bringing in laughs from the characters if not from the audience with the queen saying JAI MAHARASHTRA. Here we have Prince Charles thrown in the wedding mayhem where the reformed Daaku goes back to his past appearance and goes about shooting all Direction by Sajid Khan is non-existent mostly though some scenes are funny but he should change his style and stop making actors jokers Music is decent,

Akshay Kumar with his ayeee style and his usual comedy does bring in some laughs, His chemistry with John, Ritiesh is superb John Abraham is seen unshaven in some portions after a long time, while he tries very hard to be funny he goes way over the top mostly but yet a good effort. His chemistry with Akki with whom he recently shared space in DESI BOYZ is good Ritiesh fresh after the moderate success of TLHG which was his solo film is back with his sidekick turn but does a good job Shreyas is funny too Mithun is superb as Jagga Daaku turned JD while Boman Irani in a shorter role is similar like in the original Johny Lever is funny as usual while Ranjeet is superb in a cameo Asin is better then the lot and does a good job Jacequeline is loud and doesn't really fit well while the other 2 heroines are forgotten Chunky Pandey is funny with his AAKHREE PAASTA character Both the kapoor brothers literally compete with loud performances with a Raj Kapoor background score playing in slyly Rishi back after the superb job in AGNEEPATH here hams it up with loud dialogues mostly paraphrases of dogs Randhir Kapoor playing his step brother is loud too

Housefull 2 = Entertainment...!!!!
nisakki97 April 2012
Housefull 2 is a solid entertainment....

Akshay Kumar steals the show, he's back with a bang with his first movie of the year.... He's stunning, fabulous and his signature expression was outstanding, loved to see him in his original avtaar, of being 'kaminaaa'...!!!!

John is improving movie by movie...

Ritesh & Shreyas have done a good job...

Asin & Jacqueline were good, rest of the two don't have much to do...

The four fathers were brilliant...

Johnny Lever & Chunky Pandey were average...

Ranjeet's cameo was wow...

All the songs were good...

Akshay Kumar's entry was awesome..

This one is better than Housefull...

The scene with Python and Crocodile was stretched...

I would've rated it 6/10 but it's Akshay Kumar who changed my mood... He was mindblasting...

I'll rate it 6/10...

Oh my gosh! Is it humanly possible to make such a stupid film?
ahmed_yasir19966 April 2012
I had to give 1 star because there is no lower possible rating. I don't know what sajid khan thinking or (fully drunk) when he made this movie. Did he watch it himself before releasing it? If he did watch it, and still release it, he takes us to be absolutely dumb idiots.

Have you ever tried tickling someone very hard to make him laugh? Well, it felt that way. Only it wasn't tickly, but painful! All the situations, gags, jokes were warped and senseless. I'd rather spend 3 hours watching ants crawling.

The only saving grace was was chunky pandey. His gags did make me smile occasionally. Anyway, I think it is a waste of time writing about the movie. Only, I feel terrible for the unwary ones who are planning to go to watch it.

Funny & Entertaining!
namashi_16 April 2012
A sequel to the 2010 Hit, Housefull, 'Housefull 2', Directed by Sajid Khan, is a Funny & Entertaining Film, that lives up-to the mark. Its Paisa-Vasool Entertainment, that never pretends to be anything else.

'Housefull 2' tells the story of four fathers, four daughters and four prospective sons-in-law. Each father wants his daughter to marry the richest son-in-law. Each daughter thinks she is marrying the richest son-in-law. Each son-in-law is pretending to be the richest son-in-law. However, none of these people can stand each other and all of them are under one roof, in one house.

'Housefull 2' is hilarious in parts. The First-Hour entertains, while the Second-Hour, when all the characters come under one roof, is equally entertaining & funny. Even the climax, though loud, its arresting. The Screenplay progresses rapidly & each character is memorable. Sajid Khan's Direction is fine. Music by Sajid-Wajid, is fabulous.

Performance-Wise: Mithun is a delight to watch. His portions stand out, thanks to his performance. Rishi Kapoor & Randhir Kapoor are funny. Akshay Kumar is always dependable when it comes to comedy, and he does well yet again. John Abraham is ordinary, while Ritesh Deshmukh & Shreyas Talpade are only getting better. Boman Irani scores big time in a small role. Asin Thottumkal does a decent job. Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan & Shazahn Padamsee get very limited scope. Chunky Pandey & Johnny Lever bring the house down, they are impeccable. Ranjeet's Cameo, is fun.

On the whole, 'Housefull 2' is a complete entertainer, that's not meant to be taken too seriously. Go, Have Fun!

A Pretty Mindless Comedy
feroz-syed5216 April 2012
I hated house full n the only reason for watching this movie was free tickets and a weekend on which i had nothing interesting to do.. where should i start..?? the movie has no plot..it looks like the sajid khan's idea of a plot is to just fill the screen with many people and ask them to shout at their top of the voice.. as the movie says the so called "Dirty Dozens" aren't impressive at all.. rishi kapoor after a riveting performance in Agneepath disappoints by doing such a silly role..and the worse acting belonged to john abraham.. his cheesy one liners were pathetic..someone has to say to him he isn't good at comedy..while akshay was good in parts and the other two were passable..coming to the actresses, they had less to do with acting but more with skin show.. they were only two positives of this film chunky pandey and the veteran johnny lever.. a lame movie that doesn't deserves to be watched on big screen..

Eye candy.
Queen_of_pentacles13 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
i was actually apprehensive as to whether i would watch the movie till the end, or switch off my DVD player ,without waiting to see the end ! How ever, except for the last fifteen-twenty minutes of some stupid melodrama,of Jaggu aka JD undergoing a change of heart, and all friends turned into foes ,turning friends again, i was surprisingly not bored while watching this More-the -Merrier fun.

According to me, the script writer, director or even the producer, do not claim for any high levels of IQ,or any sensibilities, while they came up with the idea of producing this movie. The team basically seem to have only one goal in their minds, and that was to present actors like Akshay and Abraham, who are an eye candy for female viewers, and those four beauties, who would please the male viewers, in their fashionable scanty attires.

One can enjoy all the dance numbers, the music is superb, the locations are pleasing to the eye, and most of the scenes like the python grabbing Talpade's private parts, or Fifi the pet crocodile chasing Akki and Ritesh.

Out of the current lot, Akshay gives a good account of himself, not only in comedy, but some excellent fights and stunts. Abraham is average, Shreyas is good, Ritesh looks tired and bored, mostly due to his role, and Asin is quite at ease, looks pretty.

It's Rishi again, who is brilliant in his comedy, and delivers his dialogs with such gusto.

Mithunda and Johny make a good pair, and the use of Marathi liners are well-written and delivered.

How ever, Boman and Chunky were avoidable, due to their loud acting.

Ranjit the rapist ! Good to see this veteran actor of yesteryears in a cameo, as Akshay's father.

And yes, the flop hero Dabboo, too, was avoidable.

i was surprised with the good quality dialogs written for this movie.

Editing keeps up the tempo, filmography is pleasant, and locations have been chosen thoughtfully.

Worth-watching once , either at theater, with loads of popcorn, or at home, with enough snacks,if you are thoroughly bored, and nothing better to do !

Jolly Bad
bpghll2811 April 2012
Sajid Khan should try his luck in Las Angeles. He made an Above Average which turned out to be a Block Buster than came Housefull which was plain average but again a block buster. Now with housefull 2 his wish to make disgusting movie is fulfilled. But again a super hit

This is the most confusing movie ever in world cinema. It makes a complete mockery of cinema. Their is no plot in the movie to discuss, but again this a brainless comedy. Now is this a comedy movie. It doesn't make you laugh in fact it is an acid test for your funny bone. If someone can laugh in this movie than he should not watch great comedy or he will die laughing.

Performance wise Akshay did the great job but lines are so bad that he won't make you laugh. John is not good at comedy but he tried his best. Ritesh is as he is. Shreyas is a good actor and he deserve better role. Pity here is that Rishi Kapoor who has just given an outstanding Do Dooni Chaar and Agneepath is given a worst character to play. Randhir Kapoor is an average actor but again his character is similar to Rishi's. Mithun is brilliant but he is not their to make you laugh. Boman has 10mins role. Sorry but no need to tell about actresses.

I wonder when will Sajid deliver flop as I want him to come back to hosting shows. But no time soon as he is delivering blockbusters. This movie is no better than some c grade comedies like Buddha mar Gaya or Chatur Singh.

a conspiracy
kinjalprabodh-vh8 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Housefull 2 is a conspiracy against the audience. They lure us into the audience with a big cast, and then tortured us with an array of forcible jokes and extremely flat dialogues.

This is a record-breaking movie- it has the worst performances of the careers of the whole cast. A good sequence is rarer than a blue moon.

The only time, the audience is relieved from the pain is when it reacts to Mallika Arora. And then, the torture begins again. So much so that, there are cries of anguish during the elongated climax.

One has just two questions to ask of housefull-2- Why and what. Why was this movie ever made? and what was it, a movie or a satire on human sense of humour? Assuming some movies are a no-brainer and tender only to the funny nerve. But this movie requires you to keep all the senses of human experience at home. Thats the only way to endure this 3-hour session of trauma.

What an ENTERTAINER!!!
kumarakshay1757 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Housefull 2 , as the title says , theaters were also Housefull. People were coming out laughing , few were on the floor holding their stomach. And i , was waiting there thinking - "oh my god , let me in fast ."

So the plot is like this - "Housefull 2 opens in London with a sibling rivalry between Daboo Randhir Kapoor who is a impermissible but given a part of his father's business and Chintu Rishi Kapoor who is bitterly resentful. This bitterness seeps across the house as Chintu's daughter Heena Asin Thottumkal and Daboo's daughter Bobbie Jacqueline Fernandez at each others throats. Each brother wants to marry his daughter to Tycoon JD's Mithun Chakraborty son Jolly Ritesh Deshmukh who is in love with full-figured model JLo Zarine Khan but is too terrified to tell his daddy, who is striding across his English castle in a starched dhoti, a tycoon who smiles frostily only at Vishwas Patil Johnny Lever. Marriage fixer Aakhri Pasta Chunky Pandey brings an eligible match to Chintu, but playing a vinegary uncle with tang, Kapoor insults the father - with offensive 'African jokes' - landing him in hospital. His son Jai/Jolly Shreyas Talpade swears revenge, begging buddy Jwala/Jolly to romance Chintu's daughter, then break it off - but jittery Jwala/Jolly drags in muscular Max John Abraham to have him play 'Jolly', employing sleazy Sunny Akshay Kumar for the other brother to get the same. The rival Jolly-boys enjoy purani dushmani - but that's forgotten with two hot girls, a crocodile and a desert island.Yet, some starvation for the clueless girls ensures love and soon, there are four pairs - and four Jolly's hotting things up.With each Punjabi Papa - and one Batuk Patel Boman Irani (all dimples and nasal inflexion, father of Parul Shazahn Padamsee ,Jai/Jolly 's sweetheart - with more bikinis than lines) - vying for Jolly, the 'dirty dozen' reaches JD's house. But they're walking on water here. JD's got a temper, a dark secret - and a gun. Will the dirty dozen get what they Wye for??? or JD will save the couples from the dirty dozen???"

Performances - Akshay Kumar at his best , Special Mention for Rietesh and John. Asin was good.

My reaction at the movie - I was laughing my ass out sitting on my chair.

Public reaction - everyone knows its awesome.

My advise - don't believe the lame reviews

Overall - 9/10. Entertainers like these , come only once !

Silly Yet Entertaining and Satisfying
superindrajit6 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After several flops in a row and Desi Boys being a comeback for Kumar, he returns with Housefull 2: The Dirty Dozen. The film is the sequel to the only film from 2010 which was Akshay's successful film from that time. Plus, the film promises to provide twice the entertainment with a dose of action with the comedy and the drama is also provided which is a must. From 2012, other than Agneepath, Kahaani, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, none of the other releases have impressed nor suceeded at the box office. However, starting from April more films will do well business and Housefull 2 is the start of this year's more successful films. Though the film won't be a super hit and obviously not a blockbuster, it will be a hit. The story is well narrated and the entertainment levels are high from every portion of the story. The subplots like the enemity of Akshay and John are like forms of extra entertainment to create that comedy magic people really want. But, there are flaws in the script like every other film in the history of Bollywood. The major flaw with the film is madness, and the silly portions like they end up in an island, the off the top idea of a resort and Akshay and John fight and their sudden friendship and their fall into the swimming pool. Like Housefull, Housefull 2 has gotten negative reviews but this time it is not double the negative for the mad film. There are several positive responses and the film will succeed. Akshay Kumar is the main formula to succeed the film. Though the film's performances are pretty good, Akshay is the star face that is required to make a successful film. He just needs to choose the right films and not have more dreadful times like the last 2 years and from 1997-1999. This year will be his year as he has many good though Rowdy Rathore looks silly it will do good business. Like I said, the dirty dozen entertain and this film will do good business though it is silly. But, even Salman Khan's ready was extremely silly and got horrible reviews but it became a hit. Don't judge a movie by the few reviews it gets. Go watch Housefull 2, I swear this film will not let people down. Though it's silly, it will be a decent entertainer. Overall, a decent film and it is another Akshay film which will help not only revive his career but extend his line of hit films which he desperately requires.

Horrible
shahhirenmr15 April 2012
The much anticipated movie turned out to be the real disappointment. I do not understand what these people are trying to project from such movies ? I went with an anticipation of light comedy without using brain but since the movie made my brain go numb, I took a nap in between. Too many loose strings and plots and sub-plots and sub-plots without any relevance among themselves lead to ultimate confusion and in between I was searching for some laughing material which never came till the end.

All the talented actors have been wasted under poor direction from Sajid Khan. No continuity, no screenplay and even the songs suck.

Do not waste the money, even if you have plenty ! Because your brain damage will be more expensive affair.

Most PATHETIC MOVIE of 2012! With Sajid's looks deteriorating, his film levels are also...

The guy has NO sense.. looks worst and worst day by day..and thinks he is the God of movies... Someone please give him an electric shock to bring him back to his senses.... Feel sorry for Akshay... what a career... giving flops after flops and yet still sitting there holding on tight! Salute!

No Brains, simply out and out entertainment...
saadgkhan16 April 2012
Houseful 2 – CATCH IT (B+) Houseful is an out and out entertainment, the story and situations are not jell well together but still it manages to make your roll on floor laughing. Akshay Kumar finally in his best foam after 3 years of disastrous movies & performances. John Abraham, Reitesh & Sheryas are hilarious and their timing with Akshay is perfect. Asin and Jacqueline are the main lead and looked gorgeous along with Zarine Khan and Shazahn Padamsee. Mithun, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor & Boman Irani were perfect. All the girls and boys have terrific chemistry and looked great together. Songs and cinematography is refreshing. Overall great entertainment but mistakes in story and screenplay are apparent.

Housefull 2:The Dirty Dozen do not provide laughs but does entertains!
GaneshKSalian6 April 2012
Sajid Khan's new venture Housefull 2,a sequel to 2010's Housefull may not be a laugh-riot but seriously,is better than its prequel.

Housefull 2 had the potential to be a laugh-riot movie but fails! It just entertains!

Story:-

Housefull 2 tells the story of four fathers Daboo,Chintu,JD and Batook (Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Boman Irani) respectively, their four daughters Heena,Bobby,Parul and JLo (Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shazahn Padamsee, Zarine Khan)respectively and four prospective sons-in-law Sunny,Max,Jwala and Jai (Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade)respectively. Each father wants his daughter to marry the richest son-in-law. Each daughter thinks she is marrying the richest son-in-law. Each son-in-law is pretending to be the richest son-in-law. However, none of these people can stand each other and all of them are under one roof, in one house. As they enter the house, a catchy title 'Jolly' gets attached to their name and thanks to a confusion, the four fathers begin to think all four sons-in-law are named Jolly. The confusion only gets bigger… The film's first-half offers too many jokes, but most of them fall flat. The python and crocodile scene might tickle your funny bone at the start but gets tedious later on.Ditto for the scene when Akshay Kumar is introduced.

The film's second hour is the real gem.It offers so many laughs but still fails to impact the Laugh Out Loud factor.Be it the scene when each father-in law takes their son-in-law to JD's house or even the climax.

The direction is average.

The screenplay is half-baked.

The dialogs are okay.

The editors could have trimmed the movie making it short and sweet rather than long and tedious.

The music is fine.

The cinematography is good. The locales of London have been captured well.

Performances:- Out of the four males,Akshay Kumar is excellent.Followed by John Abraham who is fine.Ritesh Deshmukh is good.Shreyas Talpade's character may not have got enough length but still registers an impact.

The four females,Asin,Jacqueline,Zarine Khan and Shazahn Padamsee do not get much meaty role but do make a good job.

Out of the four fathers,Rishi Kapoor,Mithun Chakraborty and Randhir Kapoor stand out.Rishi and Randhir are cute, while Mithun Chakraborty is excellent.Boman Irani is funny but gets less screen space.

Johny Lever and Chunky Pandey as Aakhiri Pasta are truly tremendous. They rock the show!Ranjeet shines in a cameo.Malaika Arora sizzles.Vindu Dara Singh is wasted.

All in all,Housefull 2 may not be a laugh riot-but does entertain.I am giving it a generous six on ten.Watch if you must otherwise wait for the television premier!

A house full of ups and downs!!
engrumair2111 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
HOUSEFULL 2 (Movie Review)

ONE LINER:

A house full of ups and downs.

EXPECTATIONS:

SAJID KHAN directing the second movie of Housfull franchise always created a great hype as people enjoyed housefull a lot, so more fun was expected in this outing as with a huge star cast.

STORY & SCRIPT:

Story of the movie was good . But the script was above average. It could have been much better which would had made it a more fun entertainer.

DIRECTION:

SAJID KHAN after giving a very good HEYY BABY and a good HOUSEFULL with poor climax, now here he had a great chance to make a evergreen entertainer, in which he fails.. Although it is quite a nice entertainer but the direction could have been much better. few scenes are very well directed. Still HEYY BABY is his best direction.

MUSIC:

Music by SAJID WAJID for HOUSEFULL2 was a surprise inspite of a good musical scores in HB & HF by S-E-L. Music is totally average.. not a single song in awesome.. all the songs are just OK. We can say that the music of HOUSEFULL 2 by SAJID WAJID is a average attempt. It could have been better than this.. Though songs are nicely picturised. Background score is also average.

CASTING & ACTING:

AKSHAY KUMAR is the best of the lot as his comic timings are superb and he makes u laugh hard at moments.

JOHN ABRAHAM has tried it hard for comedy caper this time and he has done a good job overall although he goes over at places.

RITESH DESHMUKH and SHREYAS TALPADE comes as secondary to both of the above and they have done a good job.

In heroines ASIN is better amongst all . Heroines didn't had much to do as they were there for support of hearoes to act. ZARINE KHAN didn't suited at all with RITESH . overall casting of heroines was not so good. JACQUELINE and SHAHZAHN had good screen presence, nothing more.

Now the Seniors RISHI & RANDHIR KAPOOR are good and both share a great fighting chemistry on screen. MITHUN is good too. BOMAN IRANI gets a minimal role. he is OK.

CHUNKEY PANDEY as a surprise is total fun after HOUSEFULL. JOHNNY LEVER very good and funny. MALAIKA did a great job in ANARKALI and her act. VINDU was irritating.

PLUSSES & MINUSES:

PLUSSES:

1. AKSHAY KUMAR comic timings.

2. AKSHAY KUMAR scenes with MITHUN are just too good.

3. The best sccene of the movie is which is with crocodile and the python. It was a great fun scene.

4. CHUNKEY PANDEY scenes.

5. Few other quite entertaining scenes.

6. Fights were nice.

MINUSSES:

1. The unwanted forcely made emotion scenes which were not required at all.

2. The ups and downs in entire movie. When u start enjoying the scenes the next scene becomes Average and when movie goes in a average run suddenly a great fun scene somes.

3. Mis casting of heroines.

4. Vindu's scenes were the worst although the fight scene was good.

5. Music could have been better than this.

CONCLUSION:

Overall a very good time pass and a nice entertaining film with few very funny scenes where u laugh like anything.. A good Entertainer. if u wana relax and enjoy a movie go for it.

RATINGS: 3/5.

Third class and baseless comedy movie
haseebvayani12 April 2012
House full 2 is a Baseless, nonsense and garbage comedy movie.

I do not understand that why the critics appreciate this movie and recommend to people to watch this movie.

Ah, coming to the storyline (if you still insist), the first half is, more or less, exhausted with unnecessary buildup through lackadaisical love stories and fathers-of-bride (Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor) who want billionaire son-in-laws for their daughters.

Comedy is all about timing, and save for Ritesh Deshmukh who is genuinely funny in many scenes, and Akshay Kumar who gets a few moments to shine, the cast of Housefull 2 largely disappoints, with John Abraham leading the pack as he fails spectacularly in matching his brawny physicality with a surprisingly effete demeanor.

Intermittently hilarious.
rajshah6 April 2012
With as many as 12 stars, 1 chart buster and 2 popular songs, Sajid Khan is back with what he does best – tickling your funny bone. So how does he manage to do it?

Housefull 2 is based on the basic principles of economics – demand and supply. Demand and supply for Jolly – Ritesh Deshmukh. The petrified son of billionaire J.D (Mithun Chakraborty)

2 Jolly's are required for the warring brothers Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) and Daboo's (Randhir Kapoor) daughters, Asin and Jacqueline so that their fathers can get one up on the other. 1 Jolly for Zarine Khan, his true love. 1 Jolly for father J.D, who wants his son to marry Parul (Shazahn Padamsee) old friend Batook Patel's (Boman Irani) daughter. Total Jolly's in demand: 4. Supply: 1.

So how do you supply 4 Jolly's simultaneously? Housefull comes up with a Jolly good solution. The solution brings along plenty of mix ups and a few more cover ups. While these mix ups and cover ups play hide and seek with each other, it offers for some hilarious moments (depending on the brand of humour your enjoy). The smart-alecky, tongue in cheek dialogues add to the fun.

Though in between the few hilarious scenes and 2 enjoyable songs your attention wanders. That might be because the emotional scenes barring the climax don't get you involved and there's not much depth in the story. Given that it's a sequel to Housefull, there should be no reason to expect anything else from the movie.

The scenes are brought alive by some crackling performances by the stalwarts Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Johnny Lever. Akshay Kumar is lovable. Randhir Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, John Abraham and Ritesh are good too. The leading ladies Asin, Zarine look more in control than Jacqueline. Shazahn does not have much to do.

Sajid Wajid's music is excellent and they give us a chartbuster in Anarkali Disco Chali aptly sizzled by Malaika. Papa Toh Band Bajaaye is also enjoyable besides lending itself beautifully as a central theme. Manoj Soni's cinematography and Radhika Sangoi's editing is good. In the writing department Sajid Nadiadwala's story is ordinary but Farhad Sajid's dialogues and Sajid Khan's + Tushar Hiranandani's screenplay is superb.

Sajid Khan is known to have a great sense of humour and he optimises it cent percent in writing and direction. From his 'Kehne mein kya harz hai' days to Housefull 2, he continues to make us laugh. Would love to see Sajid try a new genre, but if not, enough people would look forward to Housefull 3.

Watch for: Some good laughs.

Watch out for: Zany dialogues, Akshay Kumar & the madcap confrontations between Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor.

Don't watch if: Just laughs don't satiate your movie experience. You are allergic to slapsticks.

BEST MOVIE in 2012 so far :)
ashfid-islam6 April 2012
I expected a lot from this movie and MY Expectations - worked! This movie is totally-entertaining-movie, I've seen till now in 2012.

Akshay's acting is just GREAT. Then comes, JOHN ABRAHAM - never seen him doing this type of ROLE before, I must say he is very talented! There comes Ritesh and Shreyas - they did marvelous job for small period of time :D Female actors supported a lot for this movie and again they rocked the movie too :D Rishi and Randhir kapoor were total-funpack-brothers in this movie, the nonsense they made, they did and they do are like JUST TOO ENTERTAINING! Here comes, Ranjeet sir who just took movie to a new level in just small ROLE.. Yes thats right! Short ROLE! But the best :D Story is well written, direction is perfect for bolly-comedy-movies, songs are catchy, casting is PERFECT and locations were unbelievable! GREAT CHOICE :D I missed Aakhri pasta (Chunky Pandey) a looot in this movie! His role was just for short period of time :(

"Fiffy (Or whatever the spelling is) and Nagraj - the two animals-scene were EPIC :D"

Some people will try to find LOGIC in this movie. But then COMEDY is to make people laugh not to find LOGICS or some real stuff in it ;) ENTERTAINING MOVIE and had fun after looooong period of time :D

Vote: 9/10!

a laugh riot
brijmm-212-3598914 May 2012
I found house full 2 surprisingly funny after all reading on the negative reviews on the net. Its not like an intelligent comedy, its purely made to tickle the funny bone no matter how illogical the plot might be. But it works for what it promises. If you look for logic you will be disappointed. Just kick back and have fun!

Akshay, Riteish, Shreyas, Johhny Lever are seasoned actors in the comedy genre. John needs to improve (as always), but isn't bad. The heroines are there just to fill in and don't do much. The daddies in the film don't have too much of screen time so that helped too :D...but to be fair to them they have played their parts well. Chunky Pandey...well, I have no comments ;-)....I m a joking!!! He is good too...

Full of stars and flaws..
eh5963-297-9673548 April 2012
I've always seen Sajid Khan shout out in interviews that he does not make movies for critics. I respect that. I feel every fimmaker should make a film that pleases them and the audience and not for reviews. However, that does not mean they should take their audience for granted. Sajid does just that in this flick. I wasn't a huge fan of Housefull but still I found it enjoyable. I walked in the theaters expecting just a normal entertainer and what I get from this film is a lot of unanswered question.

Why exactly do the Kapoors even hate eachtother? How is that Akki-John, Asin-Jaquelin become friends again that quick? How do people not know Mithun's past despite him being one of the riches people of the UK? And that too in this high technology wikipedia-google age? Why does John continue trying to con Randhir Kapoor if he wasn't the one they were suppose to con?

The story is intended to confuse the viewer. That is okay but it's very flawed.

Mithun all the sudden turning into a goon again is ridiculous! I mean, are we idiots?

I feel Sajid needs to go past these done to death identity confusion movies. David Dhawan and Priyadarshan have mastered this. I do feel Sajid is better than this. He showed that in his first film Heyy Babby.

Writing is weak. Music is alright. Papa toh band bajaye is good.

His direction is good but needs work on script. Dialogue is first rate, however. A lot of questions come and go unanswered. That is the writing at fault. Sajid needs to do films with a plot instead of this crap. Heyy Babby still remains his best film.

Akshay Kumar is good. Still, his comedy is just not the same anymore. John is good. Ritesh is alrite. Shreyas is okay.

Randhir, Rishi and Mithun are great actors and do their job but needed better roles.

Asin is wasted. Rest are okay.

Overall - A disappointment that is a decent pass time but still is the worst of Sajid's films.

A Nutshell Review: Housefull 2
DICK STEEL6 April 2012
If I may provide an observation from the outside, it seems that some of the best Indian comedies that do well at the box office involve a certain degree of deceit, at least those based on identities where people pretend to be someone else they're not, and involving shenanigans that the characters try to keep from one another, with allies and adversaries either into the same scheme, or trying to uncover the truth from the complex web of lies spun, leading to comedy of wit, and loaded with slapstick. The first Housefull was a riot, but I guess when you try to pack a house with more characters, it reaches breaking point and disintegrates instead of bringing it up to a while new level.

Given that this is not a direct sequel to the first film, where Akshay Kumar was playing a Loser, such a Loser, only the ideas and key moments got repeated here in trying to establish and repeat a formula of success, which if this film proves to be successful at the box office, is sure to be used again for yet another film. And this involves comedy revolving around one identity which everyone impersonates to deceive characters in their respective arcs, especially the father and family figures, in order to earn the hand of the girl they so desire, and having everything come together in a big mansion which provides plenty of opportunity for opinions to clash, and to be avoided.

In essence, there are four pairs of lovebirds now, who mostly start off as adversaries only for make pretend turning into something real, and that took almost the entire first half of the film to plod through before the interval, jet setting between London and a beach resort that provides for plenty of swimwear modelling moments, and a number of ridiculously crafted wire-fu action sequences, coupled with the most absurd cases of courtship rituals. But I guess all these play into what's known as the equivalent of Hong Kong's mo-lei-tau brand of fun. So if you enjoy such madcap moments, including rubber animals being passed off as the real McCoy, then surely you won't be bored here.

Otherwise, the second half kicks things into gear. centered around Jai (Shreyas Talpade) and his revenge against Daboo (Randhir Kapoor) who had insulted his family honour. Daboo is in turn loggerheads with his step brother Chintu (Rishi Kapoor), and both of them create another rivalry to see whose daughter can marry the scion of the richest man in London, Jolly (Ritesh Desmukh), who happens to be Jai's friend. So they enlist the help of confidence trickster and small time pickpocket Sunny (Akshay Kumar) and Max (John Abraham) to go after the two men's daughters Henna (Asin Thottumkal) and Bobby (Jacqueline Fernandez), while at the same time Jai and Jolly have their individual women challenges in Parul (Shazahn Padamsee) and JLo (Zarine Khan) respectively, the former being strung around because of Jai's indecision, while the latter setting an ultimatum to become Mrs Jolly, only because Jolly has father-issues and cannot bring himself to communicate with his dad, Forbe's man of the year JD (Mthun Chakraborty).

Throw in another dad in Parul's with Boman Irani in the role of Batook Patel, a one time police inspector who shares a history with JD, put them all together in JD's sprawling mansion, and with all the four guys pretending to be Jolly one time or another in their respective arcs, you would hope for a lot of comedy to spring up, which they sometimes do thanks to Johnny Lever as JD's butler Vishwas Patil, the only one who suspects a rat amongst the shenanigans. The fun was of course witnessing the web of confusion spun by Akshay Kumar 's Sunny - who again is unfortunately memorable for his crazy sticking-of-the-tongue-out gesture - and how those in the know continue to pull wool around the eyes of the father figures. But alas this dragged on for far too long, and had a resolution that's of the most convenient.

Compared to the first Housefull, this edition seemed like it wanted to play catch up, and if the predecessor can do something, so can it. With the Queen's appearance in the first, this one followed up with a Prince Charles lookalike who didn't look a like, finding opportunity to pull a fast one with a random Camilla joke. The initial rivalry between Akshay Kumar and John Abraham's characters also seemed like a pale shadow to what's already seen and experienced in their most recent collaboration in Desi Boyz, so to dedicate significant screen time for this was like watching that film all over again. The songs also weren't as fun as its predecessor, save for Papa Toh Band Bajaye which was accused of ripping off We Speak No Americano, and the ultra sexy Right Now Now where you have three couples frolicking in the mansion to the disbelief of Vishwas since they're all romancing, in his opinion, the wrong partners.

If only the set up took the more direct route and trimmed itself down rather than to bloat it through a lot of unnecessary bickering and out of this world romancing, because the second half, except the finale, was the highlight. As mentioned, I still have to figure out Bollywood comedies which I suspect could have a lot more dialogues being lost in translation, but still this failed to reach the heights and level of fun set in the original. Still, if this does well at the box office, there could be yet another installment utilizing the same formula, and it remains to be seen then if another set of cast can work the spirit of the original rather than try to be a clone.
