If you've played the game then this will be hilarious, if not then it'll fall flat
As much as I liked the game L.A. Noire with its Mad Men casting, motion capture and interactive movie style gameplay, it did have plenty about it that was disappointing or unintentionally funny. It is important to note this because this short pretty much nails these aspects in a short film that is very funny if you agree with it and are aware of what it is mocking. In the short two uniforms are having coffee in the break room whenever Detective Phelps walks into the room, disturbing and infuriating them with his odd behaviour.
The short features him "investigating" a cup of coffee by rotating it in his hand and spilling it everywhere, walking round a room by dragging along things or walking up into corners (waiting for that clue "chime" noise no doubt) and trying to assess whether a statement is a lie or not. This last one is my favourite since one of the funniest things in the game was how erratic Phelp's tone was – so a normal question leads to a massive shouting accusation and is followed by another calm question! I also was in stitches over him manhandling bodies while others shook their heads at his inability to preserve the scene! The three guys acting are excellent here – they really "get" the joke.
Overall this short will be funny to almost everyone who has played LA Noire but, if you've not played it then I doubt very much that the jokes will land.
