In 1985, Jason Voorhees was dead. Despite the death of a horror icon, Friday the 13th fans still flocked to see the Jason-less A New Beginning in theaters that April, but while the box office numbers would justify a sixth film, many moviegoers were less than pleased by the lack of Voorhees behind the hockey mask, pining for the return of Crystal Lake’s former camper who only wanted to make mommy proud.
And so, Paramount Pictures began their search for a Dr. Frankenstein, someone who could bring the hockey mask monster back to life. As someone who grew up on Universal Monster movies and filmed his first feature in a mausoleum, Tom McLoughlin turned out to be exactly the bolt of lightning the studio needed to get Jason back on his feet.
“I said, ‘Well, if you’re going to do a sixth one, I can’t take it seriously,...

It's always an incredible night to see stars honor their fellow performers at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and tonight was no exception (January 18).
The 20th Annual event was full of wonderful moments as many talented actors and ensembles took home the coveted statues awarded to them for their tremendous roles on the big and small screens.
The biggest award of the night went home to the cast of "American Hustle," taking home the Actor for Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
Other notable trophies went home to Cate Blanchett for Best Actress for her role in "Blue Jasmine," and Matthew McConaughey for Best Actor for his work in "Dallas Buyers Club."
Check out the full list of 2014 SAG Award nominees below:

The award season is now in full swing. This morning, SAG-aftra announced the nominees for the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Nominations and wins at these awards often add to one’s Oscar hopes, so it’s always interesting to see which projects are getting the most attention.
One neat personal note here is that, since I’ve been a card-carrying member of the Screen Actors Guild for 7 years, I get to cast my votes on all of these. Looking forward to that.
And the nominees are…

Neighbours
I like this new arc for Chris. It not only makes perfect sense and plays right into the show’s history, it is also is very consistent with Chris' personality. I know that a lot of the commentary on this last week’s plot was that Chris was being stupid and he was. He had no business accepting the deal with Paul after Lucas told him not to and he definitely should not be getting behind the wheel of the car with no license.
But it’s been long established that Chris is the type of person who needs to feel needed, is practically obsessed about fixing a problem and he has no issue with lying if it suits him. Plus, given that he feels that the problem was his fault to begin with, I can easily see Chris going to great lengths to resolve it.

Raw
I'm so glad that Geoff finally made an appearance on this season's Raw and it irritates me that we've only got two episodes left to finish out his story arc. And well, I'm of two minds about what they have done with his character. See, I wasn't upset that Pavel died at the end of last season. I didn't want him dead, I just never cared for him and Geoff as a couple. I loved them as individuals, but they never worked for me as a duo. I felt that Pavel had softened Geoff so much that he was no longer the bad ass chef that I fell in love with in season one. So I was glad the relationship was over and Geoff could move on with his life.
Geoff was still mourning Pavel’s death....
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Even though a year has gone by,...

General Hospital
I’m glad the show is starting to use Felix more and having him connect to some of the other characters on the show besides Sabrina, who I don't care much for, but I really hope he’s going to be more than just a "talk to." It’s just hard for me to even care if he’s not going to be a fully fleshed out character and have a life, complete with romantic interests. It’s nice that he doesn’t hide his attraction in men, but unless we get to him in romances like all the other characters, then he’s really not being treated equally. If he likes the bad boys, then bring on one of them for him.
I did like hearing more about him, such as that he used to work at Foxy Roxy’s in Llanview. But...

It's finally arrived fans of the series! The new chapter in the Battlestar saga - Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, a prequel to the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series, which co-stars Canadian actors Karen Leblanc (Nurse.Fighter.Boy, Defying Gravity, High Chicago) and Adrian Holmes (Frankie & Alice, Red Riding Hood) as Jenna and Lt. Decklan Elias, respectively. As Emmanuel noted about a year ago, the SyFy network eventually settled on releasing Blood and Chrome as a web series, in ten 12-minute acts, instead of as a TV show. However, it's since been revealed that the series will...

A couple of months back, I brought you information about the short Frankie. Written and directed by artist, animator, and game developer Mike Pappa, the short is making the rounds at film fests and the like. Full disclosure: Mike and I are friends and we've worked together in the past. Still, I'm happy to say Frankie is some of the most interesting work he's done since we met seven years ago. Anyway, with all of that in mind, I decided to ask Mike a bit about the production of one of the key scenes in the film, what he calls the "Test 22" sequence. Twitch: First off, tell us how Frankie came about? Mike Pappa: I come from an animation background, but have always...
