Back in 2009, the Flatlanders released Hills and Valleys, their last album of original recordings. A dozen years later, the Texas trio of Butch Hancock, Joe Ely, and Jimmie Dale Gilmore reunite for a new record: Treasure of Love will be released July 9th.
The LP is technically the follow-up to 2012’s The Odessa Tapes, but that project consisted of unreleased recordings from the early Seventies. The 15 tracks on Treasure of Love are the product of a fresh recording session, primarily classic songs that have peppered the Flatlanders’ live set for the past five decades.

Another day, another remake. This time I simply cannot get excited for this, just no way. THR is reporting that Disney is preparing a new version of Sister Act, but of course. Why not mine their entire collection of past live-action films that made a boatload of money and... remake them! All of them! The only good news is that they're hiring writers Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith and Karen McCullah, of the films 10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde, She's the Man, The House Bunny, The Ugly Truth, Crazy Kind of Love, plus Expendabelles coming up. Disney is putting Cinderella producer Allison Shearmur on-board to develop it. Other than that, they're not sure if Whoopi Goldberg, who starred in the original, will even be back or not. Touchstone Pictures' 1992 film Sister Act starring Whoopi Goldberg was actually a completely original idea pitched by screenwriter Paul Rudnick. His original script...

All typical kidding aside, we did not know this was Eva Longoria at first glance. Where's the signature sexy cocktail dress? The bold, jewel tone colors? The luscious, wavy hair? This looks like a picture of a school-age brunette whose mom cut her bangs! And that white dress is way more fit for a church ceremony than a red carpet event. Is the Crazy Kind of Love star finally shedding her Gabrielle Solis style? Could this be a chicken-or-egg couture moment? Which came first: the blunt bangs or the boring fashion? Or is the formerly fiery latina just dressing to impress the Dalai Lama? That would explain the covered up Philosophy design. But if his modern tweets are any indication, His Holiness has...

The unholy bastard child of a low budget after school drama and the limpest, most derivative romantic comedy imaginable, Crazy Kind of Love attempts to exist as both a frothy coming of age story and a more sombre drama, and it completely fails at both. So little feels genuine that it begs the question if those involved are in actuality idiot savants and have crafted one of the most subtle parodies of all time.
The most genuine compliment I can pay to this wreck is that everything at play is mostly harmless, but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s not still insulting to the viewer. If the on-the-nose musical cues and the atrociously contrived meet-cute between our young leads aren’t enough to drive you stir crazy early on, Crazy Kind of Love will soon use up its third, fourth and umpteenth strike as it continues to show absolutely...

After earning an Oscar nomination as a producer on the gritty breakout film "Precious," Sarah Siegel-Magness has decided to take on something a bit lighter. Actually, a lot lighter. And even more, she's stepped things up by making her directorial debut on a film penned by Karen McCullah Lutz ("Legally Blonde," "The House Bunny") and based on the book "Angel Angel" by April Stevens. "Crazy Kind Of Love" brings together Virginia Madsen, "Friday Night Lights" thesp Zach Gilford and "True Blood" star Sam Trammell in a tale that follows a mother, in the midst of re-evaluating her life, who leans on her stoner son and his brother for support. But a romance between the younger son and the girl next door could be the key the mother needs to move on. And in this exclusive clip, we see that Madsen's character is clearly out of her element and adjusting to the changes in her life.

We hate to alarm you, but there's a new man in Matt Saracen's life, and we're not talking about the Qb-Tim Riggins hookup out of our slash fiction dreams.
"Friday Night Lights" star Zach Gilford, who played the Little Quarterback That Could during the show's critically acclaimed run, is taking on a bigger adversary than small town Texas could ever provide him. According to Deadline, the actor has signed on to star opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in director Jee-woon Kim's upcoming flick "The Last Stand."
The movie stars Schwarzenegger as Sheriff Owens, a former Los Angeles cop turned small-town police officer who gets a shot at redemption after his partner is crippled in the line of duty. Owens is given the chance to change his lot when he and his rookie officers work to keep a drug kingpin from crossing back into Mexico after he escapes from an American prison.

It's the role that launched her star, but with the show coming to a close, Eva Longoria is very ready to move out of her life as a Housewife.
Variety reports on four new projects that Longoria will take on after she wraps the final season of "Desperate Housewives," including a number of edgy roles -- which, perhaps unsurprisingly given the show's subject matter, tackle domestic dystopia.
Longoria, to start, will feature in the indie drama "Long Time Gone," as the woman with whom Meg Ryan's husband cheats with and eventually leaves her for. Then, she'll do another indie film, this time in "Who Gets The Dog," a flick about a couple breaking up and fighting over custody over their dog.
The actress just starred in the small indie "Without Men," about a Latin American village that sees all of its men forcibly recruited by guerilla forces and taken away,...
