And we begin again...
studioAT25 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
After the first episode of series 9 served the purpose of introducing the Ashton Kutcher character this second one aims to establish his dynamic with permanent scrounge, Alan.

The plot is a bit thin on the ground, but at least the show seems a bit lighter in tone than in previous years. Yes, we have a few scenes with Holland Taylor's terrible character, but on the whole there's a lot of like here.

Jake is underused as a character, which is a shame. We've watched him grow up, and now he's used in only walk on capacity here.

I'm not saying the show is perfect (has it ever been?) but this is a decent enough episode.

Nothing. Just nothing but air...

Warning: Spoilers
**PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS MY FIRST REVIEW** this episode, like the previous one, had no actual progress in it. it was just 22 minutes of air with a couple of jokes in it.

to me this episode was boring. For the matter of fact, already in the eighth season I felt like this, only there Sheen was in it so it was more entertaining than now. I liked the personalty of Charlie in it.

Probably what I hated the most was those retard, childish moments of Walden that I hate to see in films too. for example the Peepholes parts. that was stupid to my thought.

at least they didn't showed him naked again.

In conclusion, this episode to my thought didn't had any progress and was only couple of jokes. I would give it **/*****. P.S. I think that Berta thoughts in the begging weren't necessary and I would ratter hear some childish jokes of Walden. they simply weren't funny.

At least better than the previous episode
fashionable_boy42028 September 2011
Ashton Kutcher is just pale with no expressions but at least Alan(Jon Cryer) is trying his best to save the franchise.

Its only after Charlie's farewell from the series, that people will realize how good Jon Cryer is. All the credits goes to Alan and Berta for this episode.

This episode was an improvement compared to the previous one. It had a few one liners and good comic environment. The episode had its moments, and few jokes were great, and a smile was guaranteed throughout.

The only problem is that all the punches are coming through Alan(Jon) but none from the very hyped Ashton Kutcher.

An honest and unbiased rating - 7/10 because of good performance by Jon Cryer and this episode came up from the previous one.

Thats two men

Warning: Spoilers
That's not two and a half men, this is 1 man and 2 children... Do the maths. Ashton had his moments and he was a bit funny, but mostly cold and very immature. The plot was fast but i can't see a future for other episodes (they will probably turn boring) I understand the new character they built supposed to be "never grown up" but we want something more... Also I didn't like the way they treated Charlie's death. It's a comedy, but still... Alan and Jake should be more crushed from the death. Watching the episode again made me understand there was something missing. And we all know what that is... A MAN! Let's all hope now they find a way to bring the series spirit up...

Improve the writing
sonnm127 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I am giving this season a chance, but I don't see it going to 10 unless they change the writing. Ashton's character is not funny at all, Alan needs another Charlie type character.

Charlie was the comedian and Alan the straight man, mix in the sibling rivalry and you have a team.

Walden is so stupid it's not funny to watch. I hope he evolves, I want to like it, but at the same time it is easy to see how Charlie could be brought back too.

Alan seems lost, the only two scenes I laughed at in the entire episode were:

a/ Alan hearing his mom in the bedroom.

b/ Alan chasing after the girl who was looking for Charlie yelling "Charlie's dead Walden's married, what's wrong with me?" At least that's classic Alan.

The other thing that bothers me is the reusing of actors, wasn't Walden's wife once Herb's sister? Come on guys DVD makes it obvious.

Fingers crossed they find their legs. The first two eps so far feel rushed together and not so well thought out.
